More double standards with Maywather and Pac

Whenever I've seen that written, it's always been in the context of the "leftovers" discussion. I suspect that pac fans wouldn't even bring that up if not for Floyd instigating the "leftovers" silliness.

 

The question is, if Hatton knew he wasnt effective at 147, why did he call mayweather, the welterweight Champ out and insult him on HBO?:think

 

Probably a similar reason Oscar called out Pac at 147. Although I suspect neither Oscar nor Hatton thought they would fail so badly.

Floyd and Pac's wins against Hatton were both good wins; it's just that Pac's win is considered better because of the way he dominated against Hatton.

 

And yet, people actually thought Oscar would win it.

 

How did Mayweather drag Hatton up to 147. Hatton had already won a damn belt at WW. Hatton said he wasn't ready for Floyd at 140, and when he finally was ready to fight, Floyd was the p4p#1 so as the challenger, Hatton rightfully went to his division. That's not draggin, that's how it goes.

If Mayweather had moved back down to 140 and lost, would you say "can't give ricky full credit since he drained Mayweather" I highlu doubt it.


Also, Mayweather/DLH was a clear win for Floyd but it was poorly scored and was a UD. Yet I never hear anybody crying about Oscar dragging Floyd up to Junior Middle. They are definitely huge double standards because people hate Mayweather so much, they will do anything to not have to give him credit.

 

Certainly, styles make fights. Marquez did stuff to Pac that he couldn't do to May, but Pac did stuff to Hatton that May couldn't do to Hatton.

 

To the extent that this is true, May has only himself to blame. That's what happens when you willfully choose to play villain for promotional reasons.

 

That is ludicrous.


Floyd clearly fought the better Hatton, and his win was more significant.


Hatton historically struggles to make weight. He is the undefeated WBA champion at 147, and a multiple title holder at 140.

Floyd embarrassed Hatton, knocking him out in dramatic fashion, and taking his 0.

Afterward, Hatton switches trainers, and tries to adopt a different fighting style. He drains himself back down to 140, struggles against Lazcano, and beats the feather-fisted Malignaggi.

Then, Pacquiao faces the new and supposedly improved Hatton knocking him out in even more dramatic fashion.

It's a no brainer. Floyd fought him when he was undefeated, at (or at least closer to) his natural weight.

 

Hatton only fought at 147 twice and never defended his WBA title so stop being a complete and utter ****ing moron.

Hattons best fighting weight was always at 140.

its not comparable to floyd draggin hatton up to full welter where he knew he has the edge as hatton proves to be slow and weak at that weight
