No that actually would have been perfect. We wanted to see JMM go the distance and obviously a KO in the 10th round would be perfect. He needed to shake off the rust which there was plenty of.

I think only the haters would have made a fuss about this fight going the distance. I was looking forward to watching JMM display his skills for 10 rounds.

It has to do with the Level of class between the two..

you can't expect Marquez to go 10 rounds with a C level fighter. Or play with his meal... He was there to do a job and go all out hard to take this guy out like he would try with PAC.. not play it safe to get rounds. It's more of a class thing. Skill between these guys was too much.

I would have been disaapointed if a C level fighter would have went the diestance with JMM. I am glad the Power, speed and reflexes of JMM were still able to destroy this fighter with ease.

Marquez is the man. always has been always will be. But hes not the man at anywhere between 140 and 150. Not when hes facing Pacman at these weights anyway. Hes the Lightweight man.

If that fight was being made at Lightweight then id be more excited about this fight. Jmm seems to have Pacmans number to an extent but being forced to put the weight on he did against Mayweather didnt suit him or his frame. Pacman has built himself up to the weight over the space of a couple of years. Marquez hasnt done that cuz hes being forced up to take these fights.

Why not? He arguably won in their last meeting. You're contradicting yourself. Unless you think he's washed up, which that clearly isn't the case since you've stated he's still sharp and fast, there is no reason for you to think he has no chance. Pac didn't look so hot in his last fight. You couple that with JMM being desperate to finally (officially) beat Pac, you have to like Marquez's chances of winning.

I re-watched it and I don't think he looked sluggish. He's a slow starter by nature, and was able to slip some really fast incoming punches early on. He slipped last-minute counter-attempts consisting of right jabs, and weaved under a couple of fast right-hooks, going to the body afterward. Then, of course, came the bait-and-counter 1-2 knockout punch. I think for a cold start, he looked sharp and defensively nimble. If his opponent had more to offer, we'd see more of the range of his capabilities.

He didnt look sluggish, people are just trying to make excuses for him already lol.
Hard to tell with just 1 minute of fighting, but marquez's body definitely looked good.

they needed this to sway the casual fans from the opinion that JMM is too old and slow and is declining.

This win makes the fight even more presentable and sellable as well....JMM did a damn good job or something else was a damn good job i dont know but the aftermath is all positives!

Ive said it before if JMM wins im drinking my own urine . . . .

Im a big fan of Marquez and had him winning the first 2 pac fights but this time I have my doubts. Pac is just to used to the weight and has the speed and power to back it up
