All Frazier had was a left. The Rock hurt you with either hand.

IMHO, Jack Dempsey had a more lethal left hand than Frazier.

Marciano's Suzie Q is more celebrated,at least by me,I think it was more deadly and scored several one punch kos.
Frazier's hook does not even have a name ,I would name it ,overated.

And it's perfectly reasonable for you to form that conclusion. I'm not saying anything about whether or not I agree or disagree with you, but simply trying to come to terms with the thread question about which punch carries greater public notoriety and recognition with most of the public. The FOTC was just that, The Fight of the Century, and Joe's knockdown of Ali is the most famous individual clip of action in boxing history.

Joe's left hook because Marciano hit quite good with both hands while Frazier was more notoriously known as a left-hooker. He was just a bit more limited with his offensive arsenal.

Well Marciano had a hell of a left hook also and doubled with it good scoring KDs and KO's (Matthews ans Moore)with the left but with his right hand he KO'd a few men cold, the Rex Layne right hand was wicked, short and and much less dramatic than Fraziers hook but it was quite a deadly blast same with the Walcott KO. Frazier had a dramatic left hook sweeping off the floor and Ali went down hard but Henry Cooper's hook had the same effect. I would have to say the Suzie -Q

    good stuff guys :good

i've been watching some videos lately on the two. i'll go through phases where i'll do that with particular fighters. the vids i've seen of the rock, the suzie q is always present but he does have a helluva left as well. it had been a while since i saw the louis fight but damn that left looked good. in most of the vids of frazier, the left hook seems to be relied on very heavily but lord was it viscious. he seemed to use the natural momentum of him bobbing up and down very well, on the up swing that left would just be unloaded. its actually really neat to watch vids of frazier letting that left go considering what we have presently at hw.

like someone posted earlier...they don't make'em like they used to

After Walcott, I say Rex Layne is number 2, the Rock with the ko punch did shave off Layne's front teeth at the numbs.

Matthews makes a good 3 though.

As far as one-punch power, Marciano has the edge with his right but I'd rather have Frazier's left hook. Just finds that target too well too often.

the right hand marciano dropped walcott with is one of the best right hands ever but i prefer the left hook.however frazier's hook was fairly long as they go so i'd have to side with the rock's SUZIE Q.
    marciano is over-rated

Marciano was more powerful, punch-for-punch. But the thing is, Frazier ONLY had that left hook. His right was decent, but no more than that. When i think of Frazier, i think of the left hook. When i think of Marciano, i think of any punch, normal or unorthodox, that scores knockouts.

Now this is boxingtalk 101...Smokin' Joe's left hand is more popular purely because of who he hit with it...Only The Greatest Muhammad Ali...But shot-for-shot power Rocky has him beat by a mile...can never shake off the picture of Walcott slumping to the canvass after that devastating right hand..in a fight he was winning easily IMO..Got cocky and got cold-clocked by The Rock.

    Legendary punches indeed.
