    Evidently Benitez.

Espedas was a talented but lackidaisical fighter.

Cervantes is argubly the greatest ten stone fighter of all time.

Cuevas by far. Benitez didnt fight with balls like Cuevas. too much of a sissy pants. no heart. not much speed but a good fighter. Cuevas tho had the LEGITIMATE reign, while Benitez in comparison is looked at more as an afterthought

Cuevas had power but it is more rare to see the skill and poise shown by Benitez in the Cervantes fight as a 17 year old.

Tony Canzoneri and Jimmy McLarnin were also amazing while they were young.

    Wilfred definitely!

Remember what Kid Pambele did to Aaron Pryor years later?
    Floored him!!
P.S. Imagine Wilfred possessing Pipinos dedication to training??
    He'd still be champ!

A young Benitez was as good as anyone inside of a boxing ring ever. When you talk about a wonderkid Benitez is it.

Benitez was greater. He went the distance with Leonard,Hearns and Duran. He almost went with Ray so I give him the credit. Fact is he was great. Cuevas was great, but not in the Benitez caliber. And title winning Benitez.

Benitez. I'm not suggesting what Cuevas did was easy, even from a technical perspective, but the subtle nuance and science that Benitez exhibited so early belied his age. Only a seasoned veteran should have known what he showed against Cervantes and Palomino, and even then it would have seemed unnatural. In short, he was very unusually gifted, to an extent that seemed almost spooky.

    Cuevas..........well, Cuevas hit hard.
