More intimidating fighters: Liston, Foreman, or Tyson?

As i said virtually all fighters were afraid of Foreman in his prime. I didn't say everyone. The only people who feared Liston were 170 pound fighters like Floyd "Glass Chin" Patterson. The only who feared Tyson were the females he beat on and 3rd tier fighters. Like I said even a fat old Foreman evoked more "fear" than Tyson ever did.

Tyson was a loud ghetto ignorant black male. The white media loves those types. Of coure the white media won't tell you that is the only reason they build Tyson up. They will tell you how intimidating and skilled he was. Of course you will believe that.

Kind of like Media won't tell you they only liked Ali and Joe Louis because they were lighter skinned . They won't tell you Ali was racist either. They only tell you the parts you will believe.

Anyway Foreman was clearly the most intimidating of those 3 fighters.

Yes that was back when Helio Gracie was travelling the world challenging other disciplines to fights.

The Gracies also issued a $100,000 challenge to Tyson openly in newspapers.

The challenges were the Gracies legitimizing BJJ to the world. In reality Louis's mgmt. more than likely scoffed at such a challenge and as I understand Louis didn't train grappling. And the same could be said about the Tyson offer. Jack Dempsey's era and earlier on the other hand trained heavily in Catch Wrestling and was as close to a modern day MMA fighter as there ever was.

    All were scary mofo's.
Tyson admits to taking his bad ass attitude from Duran. The crotch grab he admits to stealing from Roberto as well as the family insults and foul mouth.
Duran to Ray Leonards wife~ ''Once I **** your husband I'm going to **** you''

I think for a professional fighter, intimidation means something different than it means to you and me.
A pro doesn't want to lose. He is intimidated going up against anyone the thinks can beat him.
Tyson, Liston and Forman represented this to a number of fighters. So did Ali, Louis, Marciano and a host of other people.

Good point Bill. On that note who was more intimidating than Joe Louis? That deadpan stare and the power, precision and skills to back it up. Some of the guys he got in the ring with had panic attacks in training camp. Ray Arcel told a great story about that.

    I vote the Brown Bomber.

Good one ETM and Bill ! I too vote Louis... Foreman,Tyson Liston all had the baleful stare and that mean, sinister look. But, many of Louis` opponents froze because they knew the talent they were up against in Louis. fear in the true knowledge that thy had primitive skills going up against Louis. So they were beaten before they even got to the night of the fight...

    Liston, without doubt.

Solely, because unlike Louis it wasn't his skills his opponents were afraid of, rather he was the first Heavyweight that gave the impression he wanted to HURT the other guy, rather than just beat them.

Mike Tyson was trained and taught life lesson by white men. He was not being exploited by them. Cus, Kevin, and his early managers helped make him one of the greatest fighters and known personalities that boxing has known. True, he is ghetto (nothing to be ashamed of), he is black (absolutely nothing to be ashamed of), but he is not ignorant.

He is about as life smart and experienced as a leader of a small country. He has been all over the world from the block, to prison, to luxury in the US to Japan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, etc. I think he can teach a few things about all aspects of life. Ignorance is not his defining quality. After reading his book I understood just how much I underestimated Mike.

BTW, he won the Heavyweight championship at 20 in devastating fashion and went on to destroy the heavyweight division for 3 years, The media did not need to tell us that. We witnessed it with our own eyes.

Yeah, the media loved Ali when he would not go to Vietnam. Oh...Joe Louis, they loved him for being light-skin, not white. The truth is these men overcame amazing odds to become the most loved and feared men every to step into the right. I hope you understand soon that your word are invisible. The only reason I saw them is because I am rooting for you to do better.

    Peace.

Obviously I am exaggerating but, he is not ignorant.

I read his book and he was dealing with people, from all over the world behind the scenes, making huge money deals. In the street with armies of thugs and drugs. Warlords in Chechnya, slums in Cuba, Britian, Russia, Ireland, Mecca, and he was treated like royality in each place.

I look at leaders in some countries and I think that Mike would be an improvement. Not exaggerating.

Nobody (of note) was scared of Foreman until AFTER his destruction of Frazier. Hell even Frazier himself was not scared of Foreman. The only guy who was visibly scared of Foreman was Norton and Ali is debatable. Ron Lyle was not afraid of Foreman (See staredown) and Young was certainly not afraid of Foreman either.

Ah yes Liston, the guy Foreman claims to have copied.

You havent watched a single Tyson fight have you? Up until the Spinks fight, Tyson evoked fear into every single one of his opponents. Tyson was making men **** their pants as soon as he turned pro. The first guy who came in not scared was Frank Bruno and that was because he stated he was going to take advtange of Tysons personal turmoil at the time and turn the fight into a positive for him.

Stewart and Savarese and Holyfield are the 3 mutual opponents between Tyson and Foreman. Holyfield isnt afraid of anyone. That leaves Savarese and Stewart, we saw what Tyson did to both of them. Both were visibly much more afraid of Tyson than that Old Foreman

We dont need to the media to tell us anything, we saw it with our own eyes

Ah yes, Ali, the guy who was once the most hated man in America, yes of course they welcomed him with open arms because he was lighter skinned. What about Tyson? hes much darker than Ali and probably just as popular?

No he wasnt, he was the least intimidating. Foremans reign of terror last for about 3 fights, Frazier, Roman and Norton, until Ali took away his invincibility.

Tyson was scaring people shitless even after Douglas

I was only kidding you. I'd say Tyson is far from ignorant, he has a natural intelligence and cunning, and if he he curbs his spending, there is no reason he couldn't be a wealthy man without boxing, as he has the ability to make money, without a doubt.
