i know the difference, but for the casual fan or anyone tuning in, a man looking like arnold will spark more interest than a guy looking like Joe C or Helenius...or Arreola..........what I mean is, there is a huge visual factor for viewers who don't follow things like we do

I have to correct something here: The fight is apparently (according to BoxRec) going to be held in Dusseldorf, Germany. Not France, that is.

Still, Dusseldorf is only about 200 miles or so (325 km) from Paris, so it won't be too hard for the French contingent to come and support their man Morrmeck if they want to.

I'm actually somewhat surprised this isn't being held in France, like Vitali/Adamek in Poland.

Tarver and Hopkins are just as good as Adamek. Adamek got schooled by Chad Dawson. Neithr is a joke fight considering the Klits have beaten everyone else. Give Hopkins time to fill into the heavyweight frame and it could be interesting.

Certainly no more "laughable" than Adamek.

    They both (can)beat Adamek.

I think Tarver would last longer with one of the brothers than Hopkins but both bad matchups.

I would not mind to see either of them knocked out. Mormeck has no chance. I would rather see Wlad take out a bigger name. Hopkins and Toney would talk all kinds of stuff leading up to the fight, then get beat on and stopped in the ring.

Wlad is no Calzage ya know!

Neither of those guys have a chance in hell against a Klitschko, but I'd bet they both beat the dog**** out of David Haye.

He'd be 71 years old by that time, and while he'll probably still be holding a belt by then, probably undisputed CW champion, Wlad will be long since retired.:lol:

Wouldn't that be more of a mismatch than Mormeck. Monsour has some good skills, or so it would appear looking at his record and watching his fights. But who have we seen him fight?
Dominic Guinn has a granite chin and excellent skills, and is nearly unbeatable when he comes to fight. BUT, BUT, the Guinn we saw vs Monsour was the Zoloft, Paxil, Prozac, POTHEAD Dominic Guinn. Not saying he's a pothead, or ever taken any of those medicines, but when he comes to fight, he's fast, explosive, defensive, and powerful. When he doesn't we get this slow motion, dreamy version. Monsour easily outpointed him, and we all knew the fight teetered on which version of Guinn, Monsour was facing.

That said, the win is as good as Mormecks vs Oquendo since I think the lackadaisical version of Guinn is as good as any version of Oquendo. But Mormeck looked real good against Tiggy, better than either Tony Thompson or Calvin Brock did, and this version of Tiggy has shown to be a much improved since those early defeats in his career.
People who didn't see the fight vs Ibragimov look at the cards, but watch the fight, Mormeck took SOLID shots throughout the fight, and threw counterpunches in bunches, fighting tough on the inside vs the bigger guy. Not an easy thing for a guy with a supposed china chin.

I can't hype Mormeck......but realistically he's better than Monsour, Fury, Arreola, and (bring on the smackdown) Potvetkin IMO. :scaredas:

But cmon, he's a little guy, like Monsour, and actually has some good credentials, tons of experience, and what Monsour is extremely lacking........ ring smarts. I'd take Monsour to make the fight a little longer, simply because he's a southpaw, fleet of foot, and a little better than Mormeck defensively, but Mormeck brings tons more $$$$, and TBH a little more credibility to the fight. And unlike Monsour, Tarver, and BHOP, he's actually beat some top names at HW.

why is Hopkins a part of the discussion? He's already stated he's looking to fight Bute or S6 winner after Dawson.
