    Whats wrong with you?
They just want to make a spectacle of it, is all. Why do you care so much?

    I already explained why.

Just tell us. Not "big announcement in five weeks time!" or "oooo massive news in two weeks" or "i've done x with y and you can here all about it in z!"

    Just ****ing tell us.

What on earth is wrong with that?

Whats wrong with a big announcement?
If anything, its good promotion. Kinda of an event in itself. Just like they did a press conference to announce the deal.

It's not an "event in itself". This is brand new thinking and it's definitely backwards. Nobody gave a **** what promoter signed what fighter up until very very recently and it's basically an SM engineered occurrence. What will happen: Eddie Hearn will go on a small stage with a fighter or two and say nothing or almost nothing. Then Koogan and that chick with the tits will interview him after and those interviews will get heavy play.

Can you please explain to me why this in any way is superior to Eddie Hearn telling Koogan or that chick that he signed x or y that morning?

    It's all such a terrible non-event.

The "event" is the fight announcement, that's when you find out what it all means. That, I'd argue, is worth a press conference. But an "event" to announce what fighter signed what piece of paper?

    Hot dog.

    Emphasis on the kinda.

They are officially announcing the lineup. Nothing wrong with a decent press conference.
Oh, and just announcing on twitter would be much better?
They will invite the media who will all likely write a piece on it while getting interviews. This is to get attention to DAZN(as they too will announce their U.S. plans) and to officially kick off the new platform.
The name announcements are kinda of a cherry on the top. (or just extra frosting)

The reason is that Hearn's fights are only one part of a much bigger offering. DAZN will want to get the maximum exposure for the entirety of their content.

It would definitely be better as far as I'm concerned.

But also not what I said.

But I guess i'll leave it be, you guys seem to love to wait weeks for your press conference announcements.

It's good to enjoy life, so nothing wrong with that; but 100% not for me. Just tell us.

This some anti fanboy thing here?
Of course i want to know who they are. ****ing boxing scene wrote that Hearn had 6 names signed, but scene themselves didn't know the names. ****ing infuriating.
I keep my eyes open on twitter to see who they are but nobody seems to know yet.

I am looking at it from a business stand point. DAZN is going to officially announce it's plans so it makes sense for Hearn to add the fighter announcement there as well.
SHO announced a nice fight lineup and then they did that little press conference to spice things up(and i think they added a few fights). I loved it, it was a nice touch.
From a promotional side it seems like a good idea to "build some curiosity".

Don't expect huge names. Mikey Garcia will likely sign after his fight with Easter Jr and Thurman, Javier Fortuna will likely sign as well. But besides that, I can't imagine any big names. And I sure don't expect any heavyweights or cruiserweights to sign but I might be wrong.

Oh, ok if that is the case but still he would make more than Hearn promised. But Hearn is giving chance to young fighters and struggling names to revive their careers that is the good side about the whole DAZN deal. With Brook, Khan, Bellew on the way out Hearn badly needs new names for US market. Besides thoses three I mentioned Joshua would sell in the US.

I'm trying hard to hang up, but I just don't agree with any of his.

Why isn't it "building curiosity" for Hearn to just tell us? In any manner he likes? Twitter, massive press conference with jazz and fireworks, suicide by fire screaming the name of the fighter he just signed, any incredible manner he chooses now? Why is the curiosity somehow less?

Why is it "better for business" to tell everyone in five weeks (or w/e) rather than tell the hardcore boxing fans (an nobody else will give a ****) now and then tell everyone in five weeks, again? What is the "business" arithmetic that sees this company makes more money by keeping a five week secret?

If there's publicity to be had in five weeks when a whole pile of other news breaks, that's great. You can still do that. But where's the upside to the cloak and dagger stuff?

    There is none.

There's nothing wrong with having polar bears dance with roman candles burning on their centurion helmets as Grace Jones fellates The Rock to the sounds of a Bon Jovi original while Eddie Hearn chants Rau'shee Warren's name into a shared mic on the chorus now, if that's what that "event" deserves, as opposed to in 5 weeks (or w/e) time.

Unless, of course, Eddie is stalling a bit because none of this is final.

Which is probably what has happened.

But hey, that's just me. I got no problem with anyone that gets a kick out of the wait, but for me personally it seems nonsensical.
