:think Who was more physically beaten down when they stepped into the cage at the time of the loss? Brock, or Fedor? Which of the two was further removed from their physical peak? Which of them was used to their body being able to do things that it could not do on that night? Discuss. Vote in the poll. :good :hat
Brock was in worse physical condition IMO, but Fedor was the more declined. I'll explain: I believe Brock's condition that night was temporary and reversible. He was at a low point because he was coming off a long lay-off due to illness, but it was just a low point, in time he will be able to build back up to a peak, Brock is not past his prime yet. Fedor's condition is terminal, permanent, and irreversible. He is in a gradual physical decline, which may very well have been accelerated by the beating he received from Bigfoot. Fedor may not be bona fide "shot" yet, but he's on his way now.
Brock himself said after the fight that he was physically fit and had a great camp leading in. He had fought just 3 months earlier and I don't think the illness and the layoff before the Carwin fight had anything to do with the result of this fight. Cain is just a much better fighter and whipped his ass.
This. Brock lost because he's got one plan which is ground and pound. When Cain's wrestling was too good to allow that he was ****ed. Plain and simple.
Cain wld always beat Lesnar no matter what physical shape Brock came in, whereas Fedor wld probably man handled Hendo 5yrs ago.
Fedor would likely have manhandled Hendo last month if he really gave a **** about maximizing his chances to win the fight. :hat
brock looked like he was in great shape....but he just doesn't like getting punched in the face...i don't really see what the mystery is with either fight everyone knew brock's plan would be to get cane on the ground, and keep him there....he got him down, but cane scrambled well, and for whatever reason...brock's nerves/rust...cane's skill....luck...the fight went back to the feet and brock got caught fedor was on the decline for awhile both skill wise and body wise...he was sloppy and got caught with a sneaky uppercut
Fedor's biggest problem, moreso than physical decline which I do believe he's experiencing, is the fact that, like Tyson, he stopped using all of his tools and turned into a one-handed slugger. Fedor always had good stand-up but his bread-and-butter was always GnP and submissions. Somewhere along the way that changed and his takedowns got weaker, submissions and position became an afterthought, and charging in with guns a'blazin' became the MO rather than the cyborg-esque analyzation of his opponents weaknesses and mistakes. He should have never gotten involved with those ****ing M-1 leeches and the creepy religious freaks.
