Do you feel he did it more with accurate combination punching or brute punching power?

    Larry Holmes was just flat-out,,,,,,,,smart.
All business in the ring, he knew how to box, punch and most of all,,,,WIN.

Too bad we never got to see Larry Holmes vs. a real Muhammad Ali.

meh. I think Holmes. True pop behind his shots when he's really firing away. I think it's close though. When Ali loads up his shots and is stationary he can really punch too. Maybe a slight edge for holmes

Ali had that snappy fast jab, Holmes not quite as fast with his, but his was HEAVY... Ali, when he came down off his toes and went to his wide stance, had a sharp right hand (in his prime ) Holmes had a really good right uppercut and a shrap right hand too. Holmes harder jab, right hand even I`d say...Gotta think back to Ali stoppage of Bonavena ( who didn`t go easy )

I'm thinking in similar lines. That uppercut Holmes caught Weaver with was damn powerful, though. That compared to Ali's left hook on Bonavena?
