Exactly. No boxing fans should wants a ppv fight to tank. This tanked. They put him on ppv for a reason. To see how much he can ask for when negotiations come up for a Cotto or a Canelo fight.

doubt either guy will fight him....

cotto...i just cant see it...he is wayyy too small....i know roach says some things here and there that make it seem like cotto might...but i just cant see it....

canelo would be more likely...but even now we hear rumblings that he doesnt even consider himself a real mw either....and if were looking at that it sounds like he might do what he can to stay away too

Rummy is a pretty sharp guy

like ive said in a few threads...

floyd was on a victory lap against a c level opponent ...and it was barely promoted and advertised and still did 3x what ggg did....ggg is mexican style all action ko artist...and floyd is a borefest sparring session against a c level fighter

    what happen triple quack fans?

floyd's fights are scheduled on or near mexivan holidays. the mexicans still command the US ppv. ggg is not yet that attractive in the boxing world due to weak competition and quality fights. if he wants more ppv then he has to get the mexican holiday dates and get quality opponents plus good undercards.

    Lol, can't give me credit.

Dude, Golovkin isn't a Mayweather. Even Mayweather's worst bomb of a fight is going to be better than Golovkin's right now. That's not hating on GGG, it's just the truth. Mayweather is one of the most well-known athletes in the entire world. Golovkin is still primarily a boxing star. He isn't a crossover star yet. So of course Mayweather is going to get more buys.

Golovkin's guarantee was 2 mill. Mayweather's was 32 mill. Kind of silly two compare the two in terms of PPV/financial success for GGG and non-GGG fans.

I just know you have been defending GGG hard since saturday night and you picked over 300k ppv buys, in the over/under 300k ppv buy thread.. so im not sure about your pick.. and ppv buys have nothing to do with how much money their purses are.. JS

Well, let's see, we have a guy from Kazakhstan who is fighting a guy from Canada, neither of whom are widely known outside of the boxing world. Floyd, on the other hand, is a well-known American fighter, who has been fighting for a long time. Also, most people can't stand the guy so his numbers are always high when he is fighting a decent opponent because everyone wants to see him get KO's. And you are marketing this to an American market.

Gee, I wonder why the numbers are what they are.

And the funniest thing about all of this is that, despite the kind of money Floyd will be knocking down and all this PPV talk, he will be broke and GGG will retire in comfort.
