Judges had the fight 58-56, 58-56, and 59-55 in favour of the 2012 Olympic gold medallist. ( Joshua ) BS cards again. I had it even at the time of the stoppage.
I wish the ref had let the fight continue you know. Let him get up and have him sustain life threatening injuries Maybe you might have some respect tgen
The new normal can't be you have to KO the fighter who's going to make more $$$ in boxing. Joshua was NEVER losing a decision, possibly a reason why the gamblers in the know made Povetkin a 10-1 underdog...as the only way he's winning is via stoppage. I would not bet against Canleo either in Las Vegas. Its a near sure thing unless he get's stopped ( and he has a good chin and defense ) he's not losing either.
Joshua won't lose a decision if/when he does lose it'll be ko. The judges barely matter in an AJ fight
according to punch stats joshua landed twice as many punches as povetkin povetkin fought of the front foot and was the aggressor / many people socre for this and i do if the opponent is negative but joshua was accurate and did block and make povetkin miss with a lot so 2 rounds either way is fair. my view having watched it in a language i do not understand and just looking at the fight as if i was in the arena i thought joshua was ahead . i also never noticed the povetkin tiring and blowing out/ that i read a lot of esb posters think happened and was why joshua caught him.
No one is talking about the stoppage. Even Povetkin's ( age 39 ) own people were holding him down after he was trying to get up the 2nd time. We are talking about bad judging....again. Does any other sport have to officiate as bad as boxing? My tip is to pull the judges form a large random pool for world title fights during the weigh-in, this way it limits who the promoter picks and ahem has influence over. Don't expect the challenger to complain much, because if he is going to, the odds are he'll never be selected. He wants a pay day too.
Punch stats? Povetkin landed more power punches from rounds 1,2,3,4 and 5. He also had Joshua's knees buckled in one round, and had him holding on in another. IMO, Povetkin took rounds 1, 2, and 5 with the 3rd being 10-10 even.
punch stats that i saw said /and i am winging it from memory but it is near enough povetkin landed 45 joshua 90 breaking it down by them they said joshua landed 53 jabs to 4 by povetkin povetkin landed 41 power punches to joshua 37 so you saw different punches landed than the counters no problems i have done that myself in the past
It matters because it shows that the judges clearly favor the hometown fighter. So a robbery might happen in the future if the fight goes the distance and Joshua gets outboxed. What part don't you understand?
