matt (canada) david haye or usain bolt in a 100 m race with wladimir running behind them? Dan Rafael (12:02 PM) Haye breaks the world record Steve (NYC) How big a joke is Haye? Audley Harrison is a horrible choice. So his heavy resume is Two Gunz, A-Fraud and Valuev? Dan Rafael (12:26 PM) Bigger joke than anything you could hear from Conan O'Brien and Jon Stewart put together. Vegas (Horn) There is officially a APB on David Haye's heart. Dan Rafael (12:32 PM) Why would you put out an APB on something that doesn't exist? Raymond (Lexington, KY) David Haye has not only squandered a lucrative opportunity, he has single-handedly made a mockery of the heavyweight division. Jeff (Gilbert, AZ) D$,I'm reading a lot of negative things about Haye this morning....Everyone needs to remember the huge blessing he gave us by retiring Ruiz!!!! Give the man some love!!! Dan Rafael (12:47 PM) Say what you want about Ruiz, but he didn't duck anyone. Charles (DFW) How big an upset would it be if Audley Harrison beats David Haye Nov. 13? Does he shed the underachiever label if he does? Dan Rafael (12:53 PM) One thing about Audley is he can bang so if he catches Haye like he did Sprott in their rematch, Haye will go to sleep. It would be an upset, but not THAT massive an upset. Sam (Manchester) Hey Dan,Adam Booth said on radio here that there was no 50/50 no options offer from K2.Hes lying right? Dan Rafael (12:57 PM) As far as I know, he is not being truthful. chuzen (st. louis) dan let's pretend haye finds his heart and fights a klitschko, does it automatically happen somewhere in europe, or is it possible for it to happen in vegas? Dan Rafael (1:10 PM) I would imagine if it ever happens it would be in Europe. Chris (Alabama) Why do people think its hayes heart thats he cant find, is his spine IMO. Dan Rafael (1:36 PM) That too. Andrew (Nashville) I just threw away my David Haye bobblehead. And then it asked to be moved to a trash can less threatening. Dan Rafael (1:36 PM) Ahhhh, the return of the bobblehead jokes. It's been awhile. Again it just shows how much the table has turned on Hayes hype... The only people who take him seriously is his inside the U.K and even there some people are seeing him for the fraud he is.:deal
Gutterdandy (nyc) I don't know if there's ever been a fighter who talked as much smack as Haye did re the Klitschkos only to run away when he had to back up his talk. Dan Rafael (1:52 PM) It's one thing to not fight somebody, but to talk so much smack and then run for cover makes you look scared to death.
NYPD Blue (NYC) Catch-line for the Harrison--Haye fight: "A-FORCE VS A-HOLE!" Dan Rafael (2:11 PM) WOW. Ouch. NYPD Blue (NYC) The funny thing is one of the English tabloids writes that the Klitschkos are avoiding Haye. Reality is subjective, I guess. Dan Rafael (2:19 PM) No, it's just that the Brit writers, many of whom are friends of mine, have always been homers.
He's a writer. Who cares what Booth calls him? By the way, what is Booth's speciality? He's not a boxing trainer, he has no buisiness degree...He's a little more than a glorified personal trainer that got lucky.
Unlike those extremely even-handed British writers and broadcasters like Steve Bunce. Now, those guys are just the eptiome of dispassion. They never, ever take a side and they always tell the whole story. Please, for god's sake. I've watched British announcers and broadcasters and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Say what you want about the fattie in the denim shorts but he is one of the most respected boxing writers in the business, he is the final and definitive word on most boxing news. He has close access to everyone in the business from fighters to trainers to managers to promoters, chances are if he's writing it it's true. As for his 'opinion'... well, that's just something we all have to deal with.
