Hopkins was good enough. You guys gotta stop doing that ****, it's wack. Listen, Hopkins was a beast then and was known as a puncher. He had the skill back then, but he did not perfect it yet. Roy wasn't so prime then either -- MW is not his prime weight -- plus he beat hopkins with practically one hand, so he was not at his best. You have to remember how GOOD hopkins was then, him and Roy were the two best middles fighting for the vacent belt that toney dropped.

Of course he gets credit for it. And by the reasons I mentioned, it all balances out. You are talking like hopkins was some scrub. Hopkins was kicking ass since day one, he just was not recognized. Not being recognized doesn't mean that you aren't good or lacking. Hell if it wasn't for Trinidad, what would you say of his prime? I feel at the time hops fought Roy, it was their real first title fight and hops had all the tools and was a beast. He became wiser, or better utilized those tools later on.

I can't speak for the rest . . . but definitely . . . Jones have my respect. He fought dangerous fights lost some and came back to fight again.
