i say roy because honestly he never had to fight tarver but did it after ruiz he could have retired and no one would question it but he took a fight from a unknown that i knew was going to be a tuff fight in tarver. roy put his ass online mroe so i got more respect for him iu have respect for both just more for jones
i think roy fought better fighters than mayweather, prime bhop and prime toney, thats just really something
Hopkins was good enough. You guys gotta stop doing that ****, it's wack. Listen, Hopkins was a beast then and was known as a puncher. He had the skill back then, but he did not perfect it yet. Roy wasn't so prime then either -- MW is not his prime weight -- plus he beat hopkins with practically one hand, so he was not at his best. You have to remember how GOOD hopkins was then, him and Roy were the two best middles fighting for the vacent belt that toney dropped. Of course he gets credit for it. And by the reasons I mentioned, it all balances out. You are talking like hopkins was some scrub. Hopkins was kicking ass since day one, he just was not recognized. Not being recognized doesn't mean that you aren't good or lacking. Hell if it wasn't for Trinidad, what would you say of his prime? I feel at the time hops fought Roy, it was their real first title fight and hops had all the tools and was a beast. He became wiser, or better utilized those tools later on.
I can't speak for the rest . . . but definitely . . . Jones have my respect. He fought dangerous fights lost some and came back to fight again.
PRIME BHOP??? Boy, you crazy with that one....atsch But I do agree that its Roy. I respect the hell outta both men...I think its clear that its Jones.
my mistake, not prime but they were relatively in the same page being that it was their first title fight
