Ring skills aside -- where is Roy clearly the superior athlete and entertainer -- as a human being, Roy gets so much more respect. He's very honest and articulate in his interviews. This is from '03 (prior to his losses to Tarver and Johnson):

On the flipside Jones has no problem keeping it real and exposing his kids to the intricacies of the boxing world either. "I take them wherever I go; they have to know the truth. They have to know this is what daddy does. Yes, it's a possibility daddy may get hurt or knocked out, but this is what daddy does. This is how daddy gets his."

"Here's how my risk weighing goes: If there's enough money there for my kids not to have to wake up and get out of the bed if they don't want to for the rest of their lives, I'll sacrifice mine. I'll take that risk," explained Jones.

Now contrast that to that dumb mope in the news lately about racial bias.

Roy Jones by a country mile

Better resume, superior talent. Also a much more likeable guy, that treats his opponents with respect, tongue in cheek comments aside. Also talks a great deal of sense analytically, unless he is talking about himself.

    Jones easily.

    RJJ fought better fighters.

Floyd only raced up the weight to secure his DLH payday. Even when he was at 135 that was his ultimate goal.

Lately? Jones. But I remember the days it used to be the other way around. Respect fluctuates with time.

Is this the same Roy Jones Jr we're talking about here?

You people I swear to god. I bet you were hating on Roy just as much as you hate on Floyd now, only difference is Roy got knocked out and Floyds still undefeated.

I don't see why RJJ getting KO'd late in his career has any importance here. I respect RJJ more as he was a better talent and achieved more. PBF is a shitbag who has tried to build a legendary reputation while avoiding the most dangerous fighters around, and his accusations of racism are pathetic. You are just a boring fighter Floyd, accept that or change!

Not even worth responding too. If Floyd was boring, his last 2 fights wouldnt be the most lucrative in boxing history.

What did Pac do against Diaz. 200,000? The P4P best in the world does 200,000. And that was probably 90% filipinos.

:patschFloyd alone wasn't the draw in his last two fights. Oscar had 875,000 PPV buys against Mayorga whereas Floyd only got 325k PPV buys for the Baldomir fight.

There should be no debate on this issue. RJJ is superior in every way; resume, skill, personality, heart. Everything.
