Marciano had his alternative way of fighting based on his athletic potential and background. He knew with his short height and reach he was never going to be a classic boxer, so he came in low in the catcher's crouch, and trained his stamina so that he could throw tremendous volumes of power punches once inside. Many of his opponents talked about how hard he was to hit, and we have posted the quotes here before. "Suzi Q" was part of that, too...an unorthodox punch that not everyone would be able to make work, but in his hands kind of a secret weapon. He was actually a highly skilled fighter, truth be told. He just had to do things differently.
I like Bonavena but just look at the way Marciano positions his feet to stay in his best punching distance to set up his best shots and how he throws other people out of position with his head placement and dynamic contortions.
Probably Marciano. He was good at cutting off the ring, slipping the jab and utilizing both fists better than most. On a side note I think Marciano vs Bonavena would have been an exciting fight
Rocky did the best he could with the tools God gave him and he was flawless, id say just based on the fact he was no where near as gifted physically as Oscar and accomplished what he did speaks to the fact that hes all around more skilled
