Are you implying Pea didn't? 'Cause that sounds a bit harsh.

I'm not to sure about all this noise about H2H, in my mind it's obvious a matchup between 2 lightweights even if they are the creme de la creme and the 2nd best welterweightin modern boxing history is possible a mismatch.

I thought this thread was refering to best skillset, not H2H, intangibles, etc. In that regard it's difficult not rank Pea as the slickest(highest skilled) thing you ever saw.

Not meaning to be harsh. Pernell is great and Pernell fought everyone he could, so it really didn't affect much, but Ray looked for it and thrived on it. I think Ray needed the top guys and knowing they were great to motivate himself. Pernell seemed to always be motivated even if he was fighting Juan Nazario.

Sweet Pea, however I strongly believe that the only way Pea would win a fantasy matchup would be at 140. Leonard fought there very early on in his career so you could argue that it's very much an unfair match up, however it's the same for Pernell fighting Ray at WW being 2 weights above his prime weight.

I don`t care what era they fought in, if the footage is clear enough then I`ll judge the abilities of the fighters & IMO Leonard was a better overall fighter than mayweather, as was Whitaker, as was Robinson... floyd IMO is the best boxer since Whitaker but he`s not the best ever, there are a few that were better overall AND proved it vs better fighters than floyd fought.

    That is all.

At this point it doesn't matter if the guy is a troll or not. The damage done is the same. To the thread and to our psyche.:verysad
