HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! People love underrating Ortiz just cuz they dislike him. Gatti was a super duper bum in his prime. When I saw Ortiz beat Berto, this is what I saw. Great angles, underrated head movement, keeps his head down so he can walk through punches like a typical brawler, He can be patient and box when he wants to. Not only that, but I said Im comparing when Floyd fought them. Ortiz was the best, and most prime opponent Floyd has fought at ww. Gatti was a washed up bum in his prime, but he was an over the hill bum when he fought Floyd. Ortiz hits WAAAY harder than Gatti too btw. Gatti was as slow as a slug. GTFO trolling!!

This isn't how it works on this side of the forum. You'll find most posters to be reasonable.

Nah I aint trynna hear that, in this situation in particular, this IS how its working. I understand saying Gatti has a better resume and legacy than Ortiz. But saying he was more dangerous THAN Ortiz is silly as hell. Gatti was slow as a slug, had NO power for Floyd. Ortiz was a beast at that time, Im sorry.

I have to admit I know **** all about boxing over the last seven or eight years outside of a select few fighters, so I can't say much.

Old Manassa, just loves the technicians of the past. He's into fighters whom Ortiz wouldn't have lasted 4 rounds with. Duran and Naploes, among others.

Ortiz's name doesn't belong on here. He's for the general forum posters.

If you're talking, Carlos Ortiz, with old Manassa.......Different story.

    Victor Ortiz, cardboard boxer.

Did I compare how they both did against Floyd? No. Gatti was 32 against a 28 years old Floyd, Ortiz was 24 (I think) against a 34 years old Floyd, who fought for the 3rd time since 2007. I'm sorry, but I see nothing but power and aggressivity in Ortiz, nothing else. He has time to prove me wrong, we'll see if he does.

    Quite right, Robbi.

I think this thread might need your opinion.

    Pernell Whitaker,,,,,

Without a doubt the more skilled,

Moved up 12 lbs. and fought the best, without leaving any doubt.

Even jumped up another 7 lbs., to defeat a pretty good Light-Middleweight.

Did not let an early loss (adversity), stop his perseverance.

Did not pick and choose his opponents or the venue. Let his skill do the talking.
