Chavez, Olivares, and Sanchez would be the top 3...Saldivar actually has a very good case in replacing Sanchez now that i think about it.

They were all equally skilled overall but just had different styles & strengths.

Chavez & Sanchez were greater tho... its impossible to answer really as far as skills go, all 3 were amongst the most complete fighters ever & all 3 had strong arguments to have been amongst the top 2 or 3 p4p fighters of their time in their primes.

I notice a lot of people are saying Chavez but the votes don`t say as such... this is the problem with hidden polls, it allows posters to make a pick of their favourite fighter while remaining anonymous & not having to explain themselves.

I would have to go with Chavez although the goals of he and the talented Sanchez were different. Chavez broke you down and methodically while Sanchez was comfortable winning but notice when he was in tough he rose to the occasion, his best fights were Gomez,Lopez and Azuma Nelson, all tough fights that he turned around....smart, perhaps had Sal fought as long as Julio my opinion would differ.....I don't think Sal showed us all he could do

IMO, Chavez against Rosario was the greatest display of skills performed between the 3 guys listed.

    Finito for me.

He is closer to a perfect boxer in comparison to Chavez and Sanchez.

Also, i would say Chavez was the most versatile of the three.

Wow, I'm surprised by how close these polls are. That really says a lot by how great these guys are.

Chavez had the most complete skill-set of the three. And he was actually MUCH better defensively than Sanchez and Lopez.

I think Finito had more pure skill and technique but obviously he wasn’t tested on their level. Chavez’ skill was more based on breaking a guy down, cutting off the ring etc; but I think more of Finito was talking about a classical “boxer”.

Sanchez was a bit in the middle. His technique wasn’t as good as Finitos but he was excellent at feints, had good timing and skill also. Not a stalker to break you down like Chavez but not a technician who’d stay boxing from distance all night.

Sanchez gets my vote, while he didn't carry the power Chavez carried, he was unlike most fighters from Mexico and could fight at distance as well as close in. Sanchez was defensively sound and could defeat good opponents on his toes with his jab. Chavez was more a pressure fighter and his victories usually looked the same , though he was defensively sound also, esp when considering the pressure he would break his opponents down with in his prime. Lopez would come in last in my opinion . But that like coming in last behind Ali and Louis at heavy, and no disgrace at all.

Lopez had better technique than Sanchez, but I wouldn't consider him more skilled. Sal was much better as a infighter, for one. Sanchez was also more skilled at changing levels and attacking the body. Lopez in many cases was a bit of a head hunter.
