Unarguably the two most gifted and talented fighters I ever met and Chad was definitely by a long shot the most God-gifted and talented fighter I ever saw in a gym. not who had better career or who is better p4p or any bull****. WHO WAS THE MORE TALENTED AND GIFTED FIGHTER BETWEEN THE TWO?
That's my gut instinct and choice too, but man, go back ad watch early Andre Dirrell, so physicaly special, dynamic, electric, precise(at times).......... If there was ever a fighter between 160-175 that could give RJJ a run for his money in the athletic department, it's Dirrell, and probably a lot closer than most would predict.
Good fighter Dawson, can't really put my finger on it but he lacked something tho.. skilful, athletic fighter.. id have liked the Calzaghe fight but Dawson always seemed to struggle with guys who could force the pace with effective pressure , so he'd have probably lost even tho Joe was ageing.. the 168 Ward fight was a mistake ..
Dawson, he fought bigger names and had much more success Dirrel never would have beaten adamek or Hopkins
Dawson hands down. Dirrell was a very accomplished amateur fighter and well schooled but Dawson to me was a more naturally talented fighter. I'm a fan of both.
Dawson easily. Dirrell was terrified of getting hit because he knew he was packing glass up top. Dawson was hardly blessed with a Britanium mandible section himself by the boxing gods but at least they were gracious enough to bless him with lovely skills and he actually used them to outbox his opponents as opposed to spending the entire duration of the fight backpedaling around the ring in mortal fear of getting clipped by the wind of a punch. Dirrell was so deathly afraid of getting hit he even invented his own signature move to avoid punishment: The Dirrell Flop. I don't hold the loss against Dre against Dawson because not only was he man enough to fight him in his backyard, but he was also man enough to drop down to a weight he hadn't fought at in 6.5 years for that one and he was so depleted by the time he climbed in the ring a stiff breeze would've knocked him down.
