Hey David, it's so great the fight is in Germany. Do you know the name of of the soccer stadium?? I think lit's "Auf Schalke" in Gelsenkirchen, that would be great
Different circumstances.... different contract at that time.... With this contract... it was sent to Haye after verbal agrrements... Haye sat on it with no amswer for 10 days... then they sent a deadline for the contract (march 21) so that there is enough time for Wlad to fill the date with a different fighter
Maybe it's the Comerzbank Area in Frankfurt. The stadium is very big... Madonna had a concert there but it's not the best stadium!!
What happened to the days when a contendor would sign the contract on the same day he received it,just feeling honered to be fighting for the heavyweight championship of the world.I guess everything is lawyered out to the max anymore.
Is Haye really this big of a puss? Clearly Wlad is willing to defend his titles against Haye. Haye, a nontitle holder, should be thrilled with that. Moving up and beating the top heavyweight would do wonders for his career no matter WHAT the terms of the contract are. I am now leaning more towards the notion that Haye never had any intention of actually fighting the Klitschkos. If his ego is really so big that he honestly thinks he deserves whatever he's asking for, then his ego is undeserved. Haye really could have made the heavyweight division exciting for once but too bad he's a puss. Great fighter, but a puss.
Money sounds agreed, two rematches sounds agreed, date sounds agreed, what seems to be dragging down the negotiations is Wlad's refusal to accept the mandatory defense of the IBF title in case Haye wins, before the rematch. Maybe they could sneak in an unification fight of Haye vs Vitali before Povetkin, but not a rematch of Haye vs Wlad without step aside money. I think it's only a fair deal if Wlad agrees to let the IBF mandatory fight happen before the rematch, in case there is no other way, to preserve the belt. Otherwise Wlad's camp are just pushing it too far and it would be a better way for Haye to petition the ABCs for a mandatory eliminator fight against Toney/Dimitrenko/Meehan/KJ and then fight Wlad/Vitali as a mandatory when he won't have to worry about rematch clauses or anything.
Haye thought he could win the fight in his delusions last year. He talked the talk and thought he was intimidating and psyching Wlad out. It was like a fantasy. Then he learned otherwise. He learned Wlad wasn't as mentally weak as he estiated. Wlad wants to and will tear his FN head off. Haye realizes this and is suffering major apprehansions about the fight. He knows he will be destroyed and does not want to be knocked out cold in front of the entire world. He will not sign this contract be assured of that fact.
Actually a very good post, so i guess Haye could beat Wlad twice and still not have the belt if they decide to strip him for not facing a mandatory? Didnt even think off this, is this the case Chef? If so it makes facing Wlad a bit less appealing. I dont know what would happen with the IBO,WBO belts?
