J Mormeck's fight with Rahman has fallen through and Ibragimov has been selected.

Has Mormeck bitten off more than he can chew? Who do you like in this fight and why?

This a fairly interesting matchup. What does Mormeck have left at this point? I actually think Ibragimov might outbox him here.

I guess UD is the most likely outcome, but how does Mormeck outwork Ibragimov?

He doesn’t have to if the fight is in France.

If he manages to keep fight reasonable competitive, which he will, he will get clear UD

Ibragimov is vastly superior to Mormeck. Obviously you haven't seen Ibragimov's recent fights. But Mormeck doesn't have to keep the fight reasonably competitive to win. We saw Fres Oquendo whip Mormeck last May, yet the French judges still gave the decision to Mormeck. What a sad and pathetic robbery,

Most likely, Ibragimov repeatedly rips Mormeck with left jabs and right crosses. Mormeck may even be knocked down in the later rounds. But as long as Mormeck continues to charge ineffectually at Ibragimov, and provided that the fight goes the distance, the French judges will commit another atrocity.

Ibragimov may knock him out if not win a UD.

i heard his last fight he looked not so great.

    why'd the Rahman fall out?

wouldnt mind a Adamek-Mormeck bout but doubt he'd leave France, sounds like hes a draw there vs anyone, i wouldnt be surprised to see Holyfield-Mormeck in France in 2011

What did you hear about his last fight, and from who?

As for Rahman-Mormeck, a contract was never signed. Serious negotiations took place, with the bout all but certain to occur. Rahman demanded a 40% increase in pay, however, and that killed everything.

Ibragimov jumped at the opportunity to fight Mormeck.

Damn. I was under the impression Mormeck-Rahman was a done deal.

What was Rahman's paygrade going to be before the 40% bump he requested? Is Ibragimov fighting for that same amount?

I'm not sure what Rahman's original pay was going to be. I only heard about the 40% from researching French language articles via google (google translates them into English).

I don't know what Ibragimov is getting for the fight. I only heard that, as soon as the fight was offered, Ibragimov was only too happy to take it. No hesitation.

Out of these three fighters -- Rahman, Ibragimov, and Mormeck -- I would say Ibragimov is best. However, Ibragimov is not a huge puncher like Rahman is. I picked Rahman to knock out Mormeck. I pick Ibragimov to handily outbox Mormeck, but the French judges may very well rip Ibragimov off.

To beat Mormeck in France, a guy probably needs to knock him out.

Ibragimov can obtain a decision...if he comes to fight.
Oquendo had promised a war at the press conference and he wrestled in the ring. The guys who paid their tickets were robbed, not him.
Mormeck had a tight guard, he put pressure and landed a few hooks, Oquendo had a poor jab and he was unable to keep his opponent at bay, he clinched and landed a few uppercuts. If you judge each round with the 4 criteria system (aggression, defense, punches, strategy/moves) the decision is far to be scandalous.
I don't always accept decisions in France : Khurtidze who lost a decision against N'Dam in France had come to box and he did the job. He was impressive and now he has a good reason to complain imo. It's far different with Oquendo. He can blame the judges but he should think of his "performance". A real HW who hugs like a bear against a natural LHW it's pathetic. 1st time Mormeck was in a boring fight but wasn't Oquendo also involved in one of the most ridiculous HW fight with Ruiz ?

It is going to be a close fight, and Mormeck will get the decision. And a lot of people are going to scream robbery after the fight.
