I've mentioned this one a few times before as a favourite knockout...but now someone's posted it to Youtube, so I can show it. One of the things Virgetts worked on in training was for Morrison to throw his left hook as quickly as possible after blocking a right hand shot from his opponent, while the opening was there. As soon as Tommy felt the shot hit his guard, he was to keep his right up but immediately throw the left, and Virgetts practised this move pretty much throughout Tommy's career. The left hook that knocked down Ruddock was the most famous showing of it, although there Ruddock actually missed the right uppercut on the inside rather than Tommy blocking it. It was also to the fore against Carl 'The Truth' Williams and others. But for me, this fight was the best, sharpest display of it. If you're short on time, from 6:38 onwards. When Morrison hit Ruddock with that big left hook, I thought he broke Ruddock's back! Man, for all Morrison's faults, and he had plenty of them, he sure could hit! I wonder how hard he would have hit without the steroids, though?
Yup, got that one too. And even that hook was a hit of an arm punch...but it floored Jaco good, he didn't see it coming.
