So because Jackson ,Bentt,Garcia,Zolkin were each ranked for less than a year this is proof of what? Ridiculous!
Seldon had won33 of 36 fights beating Bey Page Ribalta Tucker Hipp Ferguson And losing only to Tubbs,Bowe and McCall. Is it so outrageous he was ranked for part of a year? I'm using the Ring's ratings. Botha was never ranked.Neither was Ferguson Akinwande was 25-0-0 He had beaten Thunder,Nelson,Tucker,Williams,Zolkin . McCall was ranked because he had kod Lewis! Hide was26-0-0 with 25 stoppages. Unreasonable to rank him?
I never said it was unreasonable to rank him. The discussion is more (I think) about how good did you have to be to be ranked in the 1990s. 1. I said Morrison wasn't a real top fighter of that era and was mostly ranked in lower top 10, and briefly really. For a few months in 1993 he might have been top 5, until Bentt sent him crashing. 2. dinovelvet responded saying some top fighters of recent eras wouldn't get a sniff at the top 15 in those days. 3. NoNeck correctly pointed out (I think) that some of the men who got a sniff at the rankings were as shabby/weak by any standards. I don't see much to argue with. You've listed some good fighters of the era, and you're saying Bruce Seldon earned his ranking at the time. That's fair too. That doesn't detract from my original point about Morrison in the context of the era, nor does it excuse the hyperbole of dinovelvet's statement (.... and I know he probably thinks every top 10 contender from the 1990s would kill Wlad Klitschko, so that's no surprise).
Mediocrities have achieved ranking in every decade including the golden 70's Urtain Garcia Bodell Roman Ledoux Ocasio Wepner Neuman Middleton Smith Zanon Ward Evangelista Knoetze De'Elia So you have no point and therefore no argument!
First of all , stop dissing on Grandpas. Second, if (IF) Morrison could land a left hook like he landed vs Razor Ruddock, then he could KO Joshua. However, I calculate that has a 12% chance of happening but an 88% chance that Joshua KO's him by the 9th round.
I don't think you understand what's going on here. The previous poster spelled it out with bullet points. I have nothing else to say.
Good! That's a relief.Because your argument was nonsensical and when called on it you had no comeback!
...I'm not claiming there ever was a heavyweight era without poor fighters achieving ranking. This is a reading comprehension issue on your part.
They were only blow-ins , i said top rankers. Peters , Adamek , Chambers , Haye , Toney , Dimentriko were all highly rated top 5 ranked HWs. Durin the 90's they would be blow-in's like the guys you mentioned. They would never get near the top 5. I doubt Peters even enters the top 10 , he wasn't any better than Samson Pouha in all honesty.
