Actually this is an interesting matchup. Morrison had a devastating hook....if he was able to land it, night-night Fury. Frankly I don't see Fury with a KO over Morrison, but possibly a UD. I'd say it's too close to call.
Fury by TKO or wide UD and it looks something like the cunningham fight or Hammer. Too big, too fast and elusive.
He might beat Fury, but have you forgotten that Morrison was a glass jawed fraud too ? :huh Morrison's chin was pure glass. Absolute joke of a chin. Disgraceful jaw.
GO TO 22:23 for Round 5 to see a true display of shattered glass : [yt]J2aztiIyd7c[/yt] A couple of half-solid shots and Morrison's completely gone. The other punches weren't really necessary, that jaw had been smashed. And Mercer wasn't exactly a killer puncher, he bashed Lennox on the chin for 10 rounds without that kind of effect. That shows what a glas jawed fraud Morrison was.
It would be who lands first. And that might be Fury we don't know. Both have absolutely glass jaws probably. In fact Morrison's jaw is more proven to be glass than Fury's - but he also hits harder.
Fury isn't a huge puncher so he may not hurt Morrison as easily as some others have in the past. Also who has Fury really beaten that was any good? Chisora is his best win and then Cunningham and the rest of his resume his filled with journeymen or gate keepers. Morrison was a pretty athletic guy as well far faster and more explosive than the guys Fury has faced. He hits far harder than anyone Fury has faced before, much harder than Cunningham or Chisora. Also Fury isn't exactly a difficulty guy to hit. Fury's height and size will pose issues he showed in the 2nd Chisora fight he has improved and knows how to use his size and isn't as prone to leaving himself open so he has a chance. But Morrison isn't Chisora and is far more proven so I'd favour him to KO Fury.
Yes, but you don't have to be a huge puncher to KO Morrison. It's an interesting fight. Two glass jaws. Morrison a big puncher. Fury a big man.
Morrison would hammer him into oblivion,Morrison by 3 round k.o.He was not a brawler, very good technical fighter behind his jab when he used it.New how to go to the body and upstairs, decent hand speed as well ,glass chin?well he took ruddocks and foremans shots and won.Only Lewis really beat a prepared Morrison and fury is no Lewis, never will be.
That is not Morrison that fought foreman, that is careless Morrison, are you telling me Bentt hit harder than Foreman or Ruddock?:nono Morrison also has a draw with Ross purity a big but limited fighter not on a fury level.Morrison would not take Fury lightly.Bentt himself was actually considered one of the greatest amateur boxers ever,i would say hes better than most of furys opponents hes fought so far.
Should really wait to see more of Fury before making these judgments. After the Wlad fight, assuming he doesn't retire, hopefully he'll be fighting more varied competition and we can have a better grasp of just how good he is and if he can survive fights against hard hitting HW's, which he's never had to do yet.
