Baluta has a serious engine. Wondering if he's wasted too much energy early on. I could maybe see Conlan taking over on rounds 10/11/12. Props to Baluta if he doesn't gas.

This looks like a pint sized David Lemieux taking on a souped up Jamie Conlan.:sisi1

    9th Conlan

    6-3 Conlan

Referee needs punching, awful, Conlan doing enough to pinch the 9th for me.

Have to say though, Conlan is hugely overrated, he is lucky Baluta can't dig a bit, he gets hit so easily.

Baluta always fights this way and I suspect his training involves a lot of long bag sessions of uninterrupted combination work. That's a cardio builder if anything is, feels like a marathon after a solid hour of punching.

    Round 1 Conlan 10-9
    Round 2 Conlan 10-9
    Round 3 Baluta 10-9, close
    Round 4 Conlan 10-9
    Round 5 Baluta 10-9, close
    Round 6 Conlan 10-9
    Round 7 Baluta 10-9, close
    Round 8 Conlan 10-9
    Round 9 Conlan 10-9
    Round 10 Baluta 10-9

Mick jabbing to the body, then to the head, controlling range well early. He's moved back to southpaw. Baluta outworks him, he goes back orthodox. Why does he keeping doing this, it hasn't worked for him yet? Baluta is a lot more active though, even though his shots are slaps. Baluta going to the gut and one twos up top. Mick right to the stomach from Mick. Mick still more accurate, bu not close to active enough.

    10th Conlan

Baluta has put a lot of work in, he may be tired or taking a round off but his body language is starting to tell me he don't believe.

Looks like Conlan is just boxing his way to a decision now.

    7-3 Conlan.

Conlan now seeming to feel the pace of Baluta. That's two rounds he's just decided to take the foot off the gas now. I understand taking a round off in a fight but you can't let yourself get caught that much. He needs to get that counter overhand right on Baluta because the opening is there and Conlan has good timing.

Even that two second bit of footage of Edwards limbering up in his dressing room filled me with disgust

Baluta sort of sounds like a seal when throwing punches.

Impressive stamina. He's missing a lot but I could see why people might think he's edging these rounds because Conlan isn't looking like he's the boss and is not active enough.

Baluta throwing wild hooks, not all landing, but he's getting through with enough. Mick landing one twos. Baluta walks into a nasty right that rocks him. Mich's output has really dropped here. Baluta swinging like a madman. Mick makes him pay with a right.

    11th Baluta

    7-4 Conlan

Baluta back to his old self, throwing more punches, still looks wild but it's working. Conlan starting to look tired now but both men have put a shift in.

As my dear late father used to say Conlan "couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding"

Mick needs to win this round convincingly now to seal the deal, would be disappointed if he drops it. Would make it a contentious decision.
