I agree with you on the second punch, but he wasn't just using his arm, he was swing his waist, and driving off his feet.

 

Pac takes those punches better than Mayweather did, no doubt.

 

I've just rewatched it then. The first shot is clearly the cleaner shot, and he throws it with a lot of momentum. The 2nd shot, he kind of winds it up, but he throws it with a lot of power in my opinion.

It's hard to judge. With the 2nd shot landing on the temple like you said, it may have come across that it was the harder shot. Only just realized how well Mayweather took that first right hand though. He had pretty much no defense, was preparing for Mosley's attack to the body.

That's probably why I thought the 2nd shot was more powerful. After the first right hand landed, he was winding up on big shots for half the round.

 

If its just one or two, he'll be hurt the same as Floyd was but he'll take them. What would be of more concern for Pacquiao is could he avoid getting hit with another couple of big ones, Mayweather managed to smother Mosley until he had recovered, I cant imagine Manny doing that. So in short, if Mosley hurts Pacquiao badly, he's in deep trouble.

 

:deal I don't think he'd be sleep from the two big ones, but tying up would be the smart thing and I don't think he'd do that. Still don't think Mosley will be able to land ones as big as those though. Manny doesn't wait for the counter like Floyd and will constantly pressure Mosley. Mosley won't have the same time to setup a shot on Manny.

 

Fighters styles adapts to their strengths and weaknesses. Floyd's style protects his mediocre chin. In contrast, look at Lewis style vs Holyfield's style. Do you think Holyfield would fight the way he does if his chin was as susceptible as Lewis? There's exceptions, but if you look at fighters styles and chins, theres a big correlation between being defensive and generally not having an iron chin. RJJ for example was a cautious fighters for years..

I think Pac has amuch better chin than PBF. We saw Cotto walk through some of Mosley's bombs, Mosley was landing them all night, he only landed 2 on PBF and PBF was shaken.

You know, Manny doesn't really have a problem initiating a hold if he really has to, even though he's obviously not as good as Floyd in creating clinches that can't be fought out of.

I disagree, "taking the punch" isn't really the issue as I don't know that Manny would be knocked out any more than PBF was, the difference is that I don't know that Manny would latch on to Shanes arm in that way to maintain his balance and regain his composure. It's what would have come after those two shots that's important. To act as if Manny eats those two punches is laughable, no way he takes them and keeps coming, if SSM hits him like that he's in trouble. He may be able to handle the trouble no different than PBF did, but maybe not, he would be stunned and wobbled 100% fact. He's been staggered and wobbled by less, and he's been KO'd before, there is no reason to believe he absorbs those shots and just keeps coming.
