Moses Itauma, shades of David Price

Yes it is quite similar.

David Price was 15-0

Moses Itauma was 14-0.

Both were very hyped up British fighters who had scored alot of early stoppages.

But I don't think Itauma's chin from what I see vs Hrgovic is as bad as Price's chin.

Also Price gassed alot sooner vs Thompson in their 2nd fight.

Atleast Itauma went deep into the fight before gassing.

I don't think Itauma's loss was as bad as Price's loss honestly.

Itauma did well against Hrgovic and was a mile ahead on points.

He simply gassed in the later rounds and didn't have the savvy or experience to pace himself to win on points.

I still think Itauma can still regain from this.

Plenty of Heavyweights have regained from shocking defeats look at Wladimir.

 

It was only stamina. Had he approached it like a boxer and tried to just nick every round with as little activity as possible, he would probably have won. A few flashy moves here and there and home advantage and bingo.

I'm glad he didn't. Memorable fight this was. Wonder whether he will switch to a points mentality with occasional outbursts?

Also i think nervousness cost him a lot of energy, hrgovic did well with the build up.

In the end his circulation could not keep up. Needs more vo2max. The only other fighter I saw in a similar situation was chisora in his recent fights who always seemed on the edge like that
