Yeah, that's called a good strategy. Take the young pup into deep waters, and drown his ass unmercifully. Winning rounds doesn't mean ****, if you end up being stretchered to the back.:deal:

He was a hypejob, and Filip just exposed him. No deal with it.:deal:

I'm pretty sure Moses can hit a heavybag for 9 3 minute rounds. Hrgo had a good round 3, round 5 and then cranked it up over the last two. Those successes, even though they were not necessarily winning entire rounds, laid the foundation for Itauma's demise.

This is another classic case of falling in love with your power. He couldn't KO Hrgovic so he continues to throw bombs. Instead of using fast hands and feet for 12 rnds. You don't have to stop everyone. You can win on points.

Did Itauma learn the lesson is the question.

Zhang is the only answer. He must jump back into the fire to prove himself.

At some point there would ALWAYS have been a convergence of Itauma's depleting gas tank and Hrgovic's stamina and chin.

Ben teaches skills without the knowledge why the boxer uses them. You know to feint your opponent because feinting is used to create openings - but how exactly this works is not teached by Ben.
He is a decent trainer, who teaches the right things, but he lacks the fundamental understanding what makes those things work, and this means that the boxers cant adapt properly when gameplans don´t work out as intended.

Shows that Tommy Morrison was no dummy for the way he fought Foreman. If you have stamina and Chin issues you don’t go right at an experienced Iron Chinned opponent

I thought the delirious Itauma hype had now officially ended but going off this thread it has only just begun….

So by your logic, Rahman > Lewis then? Douglas > Tyson?

I was on the corner of an amateur fight myself tonight so watched the first 4 rounds on my phone....

Moses gassed, pure and simple. By the end of the 5th his hands came down and he stopped moving his body out of the way of punches. A few spurts later but to be that gassed.....

It comes down to the fighter and the coaches.... even Iron Mike boxed to 10 round decision to test his gas tank. Canelo was told to stop trying to knock GGG out. Once he was up by the 7th he could have cruised to victory.

The rope-a-dope was always going to be Hrgovics game plan. I expected him to land more shots but that was crazy.

Imo itauma is just a competent southpaw with fast hands. Theres nothing special about what punches he delivers. Just the speed to get used too. And his speed wont increase with age....

I enjoyed it though, entertaining fight, whoever won.

Warren in shambles, had no plans for what to do if Hrgovic won.

The Dubois rematch writes itself if he beats Wardley. Sorry Kabayel, you’re the bridesmaid for the second time this summer.

Definitely. His showing in the first 4 beats the majority of heavies out there imo. Hrgovic is just a monster and combined with poor ring IQ from Itauma we have this.
