Yeah this whole notion about only hrgovic could of done that is bollocks, like you pointed out usyk for example would of made him miss more, others like say a kabyel would of had him on back foot more and tagging moses more.

Hrgovic has an amazing chin no ****ing doubt but he’s not hard to hit and he’s not a big puncher. Others could of done something but in a variety of different ways.

I'm catching up. For some reason on my PC the pages stopped loading & had to go to my cell to follow.

Many are blaming Moses loss to his inexperience and well, stupidity. That if he paced himself, he'd likely get a pts W.
What did Filip often say in the build up? He has the experience and can take a punch, Can Moses take many heavy shots?

How many of us have actually boxed - and at that level? Who here knows how Moses FELT in uncharted waters against an iron jawed opponent?
    Exactly, essentially NOBODY.

    Give Hrgović his due!

Glad to see so many Itauma frontrunners making lame exuses. I do think Itauma has a big future and likely wins a HW belt. Not so sure he can unify.

I mean man, youre just objectively wrong on this lol.

You can say Moses brings nothing to the sport, but the metrics speak for themselves. Hes clearly popular (relative to Filip), he clearly puts on exciting performances, and he clearly draws new energy to the sport (relative to Filip).

I dont know how we are arguing over objective data here lol.

You can insult the people he draws to the sport, but this is how boxing has always functioned, it relies on its stars to bring in young or new fans, who come for the hype and stay for the sport. Hype has always fueled boxing.

youre arguing that an undefeated, more exciting more dynamic ko puncher whose youth, style and mystique would have objectively brought more to the sport than the stylistically uninsteresting and generally unpopular Filip.

You seem to care a lot about how a fighter is on the mic. Most people dont care about that if the fighter isnt like that inside the ring, which Moses isnt. Plenty of fighters have been good for the sport while not being good on a mic.

I havent been paying attention so I dont know what youre view on them was before this conversation but its clear to me now youre massively anti moses, which makes you massively biased in this conversation. Ive known you long enough to know when you get this biased youre not looking at things objectively. And i dont care about this conversation enough to keep going with it lol.

If you think the 34 year old boring Filip that has next to no fan following and brings literally nothing to the sport is better than a 21 year old dynamic champion who is actively attracting energy to the sport, idk what else to tell you.

    Agree to disagree lol.

As for if Filip will lose again soon or not, well we can bump this conversation after his next 3 fights against top 4 ring rated fighters have happened and see who turns out right. If he still has his title in two years and having faced a couple top guys Ill come eat my crow.

What British Next Big Thing isn't? Come on man, you're been watching this sport long enough to have seen this story before Moses is not special like everyone claimed he was and today that was proven. Too bad, so sad, move on! The man had "impressive" wins over Whyte, Franklin and McKean for **** sake! It was ALL HYPE! If he wasn't exposed today, he'd be exposed next time. You're letting your emotions get the best of you. You did this after the Usyk match too. No need to bum yourself out. Moses simply isn't worth it.

After watching this bout I think Itauma has all the good physically (not sure about mentally...) but I must admit, as someone who picked Hrgovic ages ago, that this was immensely satisfying to watch. Over here in the UK the hype has been absolutely ridiculous. In fact, in terms of hype: achievement ratio I think he is possibly the worst hype (and fall) I've seen. The Warren interview saying he'll be a worldwide cultural phenom and better than Tyson being one of many examples. Not to mention commentator brown nosing. Much worse than AJ's imo despite the fact AJ gets ragged on far more for it.

Also loving the new sneaky left hand body shots Hrgovic has been implementing lately.

I don't know that everyone necessarily wanted him to lose - but most expected him to... Because he's essentially a gatekeeper with a great chin, and we've been told for a couple of years now that Itauma was a dominant champion in the making - it was understandable that it was seen as inevitable by many.

It's still entirely possible that Itauma learns from this as Dubois did from Joyce...

But the kid doesn't have a great chin - Hrgovic wouldn't have been able to stop him if he did.

Itauma can still be successful as a glass cannon up to a point, but he's not looking like he has the attributes to make a dominant champion.

Youre losing track of what were discussing here.

The discussion isnt if Moses is genuinely special or not. The discussion wasnt if he was all hype or not. Thats completely irrelevant and besides the point.

The discussion is, was it better for boxing for him to have been good enough to beat Filip, and continue on gaining hype, popularity, and setting up some big matches down the stretch, and continue putting on exciting matchups while continuing to garner attention for boxing.
or was it better for boxing that Filip won.

    The answer is quite obvious.

I can tell you the one with emotions here is not me man lol, I dont give a damn about this subject.. I prefer Moses to Filip but Im hardly a big Moses fan.

You seem like the emotional one here, you are clearly objectively biased here (which I think youd admit), youre arguing against objective data, your misreading of me (thinking im emotional when im not at all, and comparing this to the usyk match for me which they are night and day to me) and your misfollowing what were discussing and the irrelevancy of Moses actual ability, has me wondering whats going on in this discussion lol.

its ok, its not that big a deal.

You think Filip winning is better for the sport of boxing than Moses staying undefeated and going on to bigger things.

    We agree to disagree lol.

Young Tyson could not knock out crack head mitch Green and went the distance with james tillis in a competitive fight in his 20th pro fight. They would have never matched a 16 fight Tyson with someone like Hrgovic in the first place.

Doesn't matter. He's a sitting duck. He's slow and static. Early KO for Mike.

No I didn't lose track, like I said.. I just don't think anything of value has been lost. Just Brit over hypers overhyping again. The only real impact it'll have for the sport is a Frank Warren cash cow got derailed and his next match might not be a sell out. But in terms of the sport as a whole. Filip might not be a massive draw, but Moses isn't much better. I highly doubt his void of a personality would've sold well here either. They're both planks of wood. But fine, agree to disagree.:D

There where 4 rounds left. There's bad pacing and there's that. Who's to say he's capable of going 12 without gassing, he couldn't cope with the pressure either in the 9th, it wasn't just exaustion.

Joe Louis got KTFO early in his career. Learned from that loss and the rest is history.

I'm not saying Itauma is another Louis, just that he's a young, gifted boxer who can learn and move on IF he has support and a good mental state of mind.

I was actually hoping this loss would happen because what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. He has time, he can still rise up.

    I agree.

I think I went to far earlier in assuming he can go 12 even if he adjusts his style. He was very badly gassed for it only being round 9.

If it was the 11th or 12th and he gasses like that, its easy to say some minor adjustments can get him to the end, endurance wise.

Being completely spent in the 9th round, without even entering the championship rounds, its not a given that he can adjust for that.
