Cintron is and has always been over hyped trash, he went life and death with Estrada, Had a tough time with Felliciano and has beat noone of note. Mosley is old, Berto is green, Clottey couldn't beat Margo or Baldo, IMO the top guys 10 yrs ago are head and shoulders better than the current crop. I'd take peak SSM, Tito, ODLH, Quartey, and Forrest over what we have today.

You are right on. I thought the same about Cintron. They made him out to be a knockout artist comparable to Tommy Hearns or Julian Jackson.

I don't see why everyone else can't admit that WW is not that good at the moment.

Neither is 135. 122 is the best division in Boxing. Vasquez, Marquez, Lopez, Caballero, De Leon, Penalosa, J Gonzalez.

True but noone is talking up 135 as great, people act like 147 is great, when it hasn't been that good in a long time.

leave the accusations behind:patsch Well if a very poor boxer in Margarito beat up Cotto, i still dont think any shot fighter can beat him. Unless you think Cotto is worse or you're blaming the gloves again.

Btw, by your analysis, this fight doesnt give Shane any credit. Margo is simply a bum.

So very few seem to believe in that thing called resiliency anymore. Sad.

Mosley gets credit for being able to fight and get it done at his age but honestly Margo and the rest of todays fighters at 147 just aren't that good, I stand by what I said earlier 8-10 yrs ago there was a load of great talent. Peak SSM, ODLH, Tito, Forrest, and Quartey are head and shoulders better than today's current crop.

As for Margo, I think today's versions of Forrest and ODLH would beat him at 154. BTW why would he load his gloves for a very old fighter he was favored to beat but not for Cotto, Noone knows how long he has been doing this, so he deserves the scrutiny.

    I agree with everything.

Except that DLH, this version of Oscar, would defeat Antonio Margarito. I think Oscar is a spent force, and he would do himself a great service by retiring. He may feel the need to vindicate his legacy after last time out, but his body does not respond the way it used too. I think weight was an issue, but I think if Oscar was not shot before the fight, he will be now. Physically and mentally. He was man-handled by a Lightweight.

He's not what he once was but he's still very good and has the potential to rule a weight class, that says a lot about a supposedly shot fighter.

Pac's speed and skill is what gave him problems, same for when he fought Forbes but against Mayo he looked good and against someone SLOW, and limited who throws very wide shots I think he would do OK, its kinda like Holyfield earlier this decade. Against quick slicksters like Byrd and Toney he looked like crap but against slower limited guys like Rahman and Valuev at age 46 he was able to hold his own. I know its different but Margo really is alot worse than you think.
