His legacy for me was destroyed when he cheated and took drugs. Shame as I have no doubts he could have done it without them. But a cheat is a cheat. The same rules should apply to all athletes olympic or otherwise.
The topic is not about Forrest and Winky :-( If your logic would be correct then you should put Tarver before Jones in ATG list atsch Stop drinking and dope, get some meds and come back posting again.
I think too many people are too apt to throw around 'top 100' figures. I'm guilty of this, too, sometimes. Shane is a great fighter, no doubt, and I have been a big fan of his for a long time. The Margo victory certainly puts him in a more favorable light, but I'm still not certain he belongs in the top 100. Maybe a victory over Mayweather and/or someone like Pacquiao might help elevate him. Reversing his loss to Cotto would speak volumes for him, too. But there have been an AWFUL lot of great fighters in this sport's history, and as much as I'd like to believe otherwise, I'm not sure Shane cracks the top 100.
Once you get outside the top 100 is it worth naming them all? I think Mosley is outside of that group which IMO means that it's not worth listing, I think if he has a tremendous run with the WW title, He could wind up inside 100...but it takes way too much time an energy to list, analyze and discuss fighters outside of the elite 100.
This is where I put him also maybe even above 100. He was good but never dominant against the elite top guys. He sure could knockout guys like Vargas and Mayorga and Margarito, but those guys had big liabilities and they were not and are not near ATG. Had he had a great knockout against Oscar, that might help him. I would have loved to see Mosley against Tito and maybe even Hopkins.. That would have told me a lot. I know Mosley was too small for Hopkins but who knows. Mosley did lose to Winky and Forrest. So to say he is near the top ATG cannot be.
