Not a great fight for Mosley, but maybe his experience with Winky and with Nazim in his corner, he can find his way around the turtle shell defense of Clottey.

Hmm.. I didn't realize Arum is that nervous about Mosley fighting Cotto again. That's the logical fight at this point. He's not really serious about "the winners fighting in autumn" is he now? What if it's Clottey vs. Cotto, or Mosley vs. Margarito? Arum is full of ****, he'll change plans on us all over again if it falls that way.

Of course he wants to have the Margarito/Cotto rematch and a chance to put more shine on Clottey with a potential win/showcase over a star like Mosley. Arum overpays to get showcase opportunities for his stable with established names, he lives for those. This is basically Bob's dream scenario. He's a ****ing sheister.

He's got no problem sending a possible shell of Margarito into a direct Cotto rematch. Margarito is on the way out and he knows it. He wants that ****ing money. Cotto has far fewer miles on him and Arum did not and would not allow Miguel to take the Margarito rematch right away. Whichever donkey will carry longer.. What a bad boxing stereotype this ******* is.

He's probably going to get away with..

Mosley will go to the body with a vengeance. We can be sure of it.

Mosley definitely won't enjoy the same gaping windows he exploited in the Margo fight. Despite how good he looked this weekend, I can't see him taking out Clottey. Good defense throws Mosley's game completely off.

Stylistically I dont like this fight for Mosely. It would look like the Wright fights somewhat.

I'd love to see it but I doubt Mosley would take this fight. He said it himself that he wants the big fights and specifically named Cotto. I've also heard that he would like the Pac-Hatton winner as well.

BTW I'd favor Clottey and his Winky Wright esk guard over Mosley.

I agree with everyone else Clottey is very similar to Winky but smaller. I dont think Clottey is as good as Winky either. I think Mosley beats Clottey. Dout they put this fight together though.

it wasnt just wrights defense which did in mosley it was his rapier jab as well something which clottey lacks. I'd back mosley to just outwork him over 12

Stylistically, this fight has the makings of a snoozer. Their both counter punchers with good defenses.

    Snoozer written all over it!!

Thought Shane was looking for megafights. Like Mayweather for instance. if not...

Surely there's better fights than Clottey. Mosley does seem to go out of his way to fight the most potentially difficult opponent.

Cotto rematch would be better than Clottey. As Cotto may be a little damaged from the Margarito beating. And the revenge factor.

I don't see why. I don't think it would be a particularly exciting fight, and I don't think Mosley would be proving anything by beating Clottey. I don't see why some rate Clottey so highly.

    That's interesting. Look at these quotes from Richard Schaeffer;

“Floyd Mayweather makes the most sense,..I think Mosley-Mayweather could be one of those all-time great boxing events that captures the imagination of the public."

“I don’t think Berto is ready yet,..He’s still developing as a fighter and he’s still developing his name. He’s a very good young fighter and I think there are other very good fighters out there like Paul Williams and (Joshua) Clottey, but those fighters would not make for a big event."

“Mayweather, the winner of Hatton-Pacquiao and Cotto are a notch above the rest. They make for interesting fights, they have a name and they have fans.”

    Schaefer on a Mosley/Margo rematch

“It was too one-sided for an immediate rematch,...and as Bob Arum said, speed always kills power. Margarito can come back and be as successful as he once was, but Mosley would probably beat him 10 times out of 10 because of his hand speed.”

So it looks like Arum is all alone with the this grand scheme of his.
