Because boxing is in need of new superstars, and giving and old fighter like Mosley a close decicion over the young up and coming Cotto makes no sence for boxing, If Mosley would have gotten the decicion he deserved yesturday he would have most likely retire, and everybody would forget about Cotto, so we would have lost both fighters, but instead they give the decicion to Cotto so that the chance of him fighting the winner of Hatton/Maywether could stand at about 98% chance of happening wish means more exciting fights, more money for the pockets of the big bosses, yet on the other hand if Mosley would have won, wish he did, then there would not be much interest in a fight between Mosley and Mayweather or Mosley and Hatton, we have seen alot of Mosley and what he can do, but boxing has proven to me over and over that in order to protect the carrer of young and exiciting fighter like cotto they would have no remorse toward the legacy of a fighter like Mosley that has done things for the sport that few fighters will ever accomplish, and Cotto is a very exciting fighter to watch by the way, so last night as i watched the fight and the 12 round was over, i knew that Mosley had but pulled out a close dececions that many tought we couldnt do but i also knew that he stood no chance vs boxing's dishonesty so instead of hearing what the decicion was i just shut down the tv and went to sleep (wish is really hard to do believe me lol) so this morning i got up and come to ESB to find out the news wish i already knew.

Either was Mosley come out Victorious last night, time will tell.

Yep, you got it. Great post.

Same thing that happened to B-Hop in Taylor I and that happened to Toney in Peter I.

Even though you know it's coming, it never sits right in your stomach.

He was given the loss because he was beat at his own game. Cotto gave Shane a boxing lesson. That Cotto is one versatile fighter.

If you want to complain about a bad decision, why was Casamayor given the decision last night?

Mosley did not win that fight. And trust me, I'm the most bias ****er in the world when scoring a Mosley fight. He just didn't do enough to take it. Period.

Why would i even talk about that, the only 3 people in the world that saw Casamyor win were those 3 judges, come on

They gave Cotto the decision because the fight was damn close and the judges thought Cotto won.

I hope Cotto fights Mayweather-Hatton winner, I think he will.

I think Cotto won. He scored more clean shots. The only thing that looked bad is that it appeared Mosley made him change gameplans late and became the aggressor. So from the looks of things Mosley was winning, but Cotto was still scoring more. Both fighters showed great will and courage and both took some massive shots. Much Respect to them.

I thought Cotto lost round 1. Everyone else gave it to hom apparently so I was off for the rest of the fight.
I didn't score i though. So I thought it could have gone either way.
Cotto had some good rounds, and he was impressive with his boxing.
I thought he could have won it clearly if he hadn't got the bad advice from the corner before round 9.
I mean it's not good when your corner tells you that you have the fight won already, and at the same time the other guy is being told to step it up.
especially when the other guy is someone who really can step it up.

nope. the reason b-hop lost the first fight was because he done nothing in the first 6. someone should have reminded him that his fists were for throwing.

Nope. B-Hop battered Taylor for the second half of the fight. Taylor should thank God every night he wasn't "Pavlik'd" by B-Hop in their first fight. That's how you close the show.

I can see Taylor winning the second fight, but definitely not the first. Clearly B-Hop's fight. HBO screwed Hopkins, as they screwed Mosley last night.

Happens to a lot of vets. Thank goodness Pavlik ridded us of the the Myth of Taylor. Best KTFO I've seen in a long time.

God damn.. I knew when that there would be tons of people on these boards that thought this was a robbery. People here are amazing. It was not even a gift decision, let alone a robbery. Cotto won the fight clearly. Saying that the fight was a draw might be acceptable, but saying that Mosley won is just crazy.

When Cotto was backing up and boxing more, it didn't mean he was losing. I'm surprised he did that though and I'm VERY surprised he didn't fight the 12th round like a true great fighter. I was expecting him to make sure he won that final round and give a great impression of himself, but he didn't. He still put on a great overall performance though and clearly won. I really hope Floyd-Cotto happens and not DLH-Cotto. Cotto fighting Floyd would be a real 50/50 fight and a win would mean huge things for their legacy.
