Mosley himself said his fathers heart wasn't in it any more

As a writer, you took too long to get to the point. You could have summed the first four or five paragraphs up into about 200 words. Your analysis of the Shane-Jack dynamic is interesting, but you don't do enough to say why Shane was different in the Margarito fight.

There's promise there, you've got a nice easy writing style. Try and focus on the structure and making a clear point earlier on.

Do you fancy yourself a famous journalist or something? Constructive criticism is one thing, but unless you're an expert you should probably just keep it to yourself...or at least off of public boards. :D

  7. I had trouble getting past the first paragraph because the writer kept talking about himself. So I definitely agree with Threethirteen. One of those first basic things you learn about writing this kind of piece is to state your main point in the first paragraph, then commence your analysis.

I don't want to turn this into a discussion on writing though... overall its very well written and makes some significant points. :good:good

Good read, but do you really think that Mosley's shitty outings were because of his father, and that now he has Nazim Richardson, and he is a new man? Fair enough, if you think so, but I don't. What I think is that Mosley looked spectacular against Margarito is because Marg was tailor made for him.

It's a wonderful article , stating some facts to make a fantasy more believeable. The belief of Mosely beating Mayweather ranks among the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.
Shane is 38 years old and lost fairly recently to Cotto who has since been beaten to a pulp twice. Although Mayweather is only 5 years younger, he's very much less abused , and probably at or close to peak. Add 16 months activity for Shane to the mix, and you have another one of Floyd's very calculted risks and another boring PPV event, resulting in a routine unanimous decision for Floyd.

I am a professional writer - been a copywriter for the last four years and been writing freelance journalism since I was 23. Most of what I said is just good writing practice, which any course would teach you.

Thank you, threethirteen. You are absolutely right. I didn't proofread this or even skim over it before posting. Nor did I begin with an outline as I usually do. Also, I try to avoid first person like the plague. I suppose I am so passionate about this fight and about keeping the sport of boxing alive that I just brainstormed and posted a blog.

Thank you for your input. It is well received.

great article on shane...but a landslide?

outside the ring MILES APART.....inside the ring and training....Floyd trains just as hard or harder. Floyd doesnt underestimate any opponent and never comes in under prepared. Shane has Size and Power over Floyd and an exceptional offense...but thats it.

The only thing Mosley does better by default is attack offensively. Mosley will have his hands full as will Floyd but a landslide...i dont see for either fighter.

I thought it was a good post. Your passion comes across without a doubt, but everyone's writing can be better, mine included. Thankfully I have much better writers than myself around me every day.

What are you looking at for future posts? I'd be interested in what you have to say about the so-called 'mind-games' Floyd's playing.

It not only could of been his father but also his ex wife. He married her right after the De La Hoya Fight and had 3 kids. Their marriage went sour after few years but Shane winged it out until The wife filed for divorce in 2009 during his traing for the Maragarito Fight. I believe that's one of the reasons he beat the **** out of Maragrito besides the loaded Gloves. I don't know about You but I've been Married to the wrong Person before and had to Pay a costly divorce. The wrong woman could **** up your life. Arguing with her ass for the last ten years probably affected his performance in the ring. It's hard to focus in the ring if you got a ton of personal problems going at home.I truly believe that his Ex wife and maybe his father have been a thorn in his side for the last 10 years. If Margarito is Proof that he's pulled that thorn out then Mayweather is in for a rude awaking.
