Anyone else fancy Mosley for an upset? Some of the odds the bookies are offering you'd think he was a bum.
Margo UD or possible late TKO. Don't think Shane has enough left in the tank to beat Margo at this point.
Yep he has a chance IMO. I'm not picking either way yet until I go back and look at the Mayorga fight and work out whether he can improve on what he did wrong at his age, and against this different style. If they are offering bum odds on Mosley it is certainly worth a punt.
the way to beat margarito is obvious. mosley can combo/potshot/duck and spin, using his handspeed to easily outbox margarito and land at will, as margarito is as slow a top fighter as you will ever see. but you have to do it for 3 mins a round for 12 rounds as margarito will walk through it and throw at whatever he can. mosely v mayorga manged 400 punches from memory, v a target right in front of him. can he up this workrate v margarito as he will need to and can he move his feet persoannly i doubt it, he looks like he has lost to much at this stage of his career especially his foot movement.
I won't vote for a Mosely upset, but don't think Mosely is hopeless against Margo, I just think what he has left now is not enough to beat Margo.
yep his timing was poor. i think the stats said 120 punches landed. he will land more v margarito , but he will take a lot more as well, but he has a great chin and IMO mosely will not be hurt in this fight. i dont think he is out of it though if he can turn back time and up his workrate to 600 and land 250, it will be very close .
His timing was the most shocking thing against Mayorga. He had a defensively lacking, wide open target infront of him, and he always seemed to either wait too long to pull the trigger, or just completely mistime the shot so it did not land correctly. I guess he would say the unorthodoxy of Mayorga put him off...and he's got perhaps a slower, just as open and more predictable target this time. There are some positives. I think he will fair well offensively, particularly early, but whether he can sustain his work, especially under this pressure, is a massive question mark. His legs might just give up on him I think.
I think he has better stamina and chin than Cotto - so the pressure might not affect him as much. He also hits harder than Cotto, but still not hard enough to back Margo up. I think it will be a close affair for 8 before Shane gets worn down and either stopped, or loses a UD.
The Mosley against Mayorga has no chance. He went to Nazim Richardson so maybe he will try box if he does he has a decent chance imo
I dont see this fight going to the last third of it, Honestly I think its going to look similar to Forrest Mosley 1 the only difference is Mosley is too old to get himself out of trouble when he gets hurt.
I'm sure Mosley will come in with a solid gameplan but once Margo clocks him it's going to turn into a brawl where any semblance of technique goes out the window in favor of machismo. Both these guys have grown up fighting gym wars so I really don't think this late in his career Mosley can change his style for more than a couple of rounds. It's in their nature to brawl. Mosley was never really ever a true boxer. He was just a puncher with fast hands and a non-existent jab. Those that criticise Margo for winging wide punches should know that Mosley favors a his left hook and looping overhand right these days as well. I don't think Margo is going to have any problems hitting Mosley. This should be entertaining.
shane is too one dimensional to be able to beat a good big man in margarito. Margo by decision or possible ko. The bookie is on the money on the odds. -400 on marg.
