i was reading articles on another boxing site and came across this interesting to hear mosley was trying to ko cotto instead of boxing him.
Cotto tends to cause fighters to look desperate and uncomfortable, its a tribute to his versatility. I recall reading on another thread that most fans automatically assume Cotto is struggling when he takes his foot of the gas and seemingly boxes on the backfoot, when if fact Cotto he knows how to adpat and utilize a different game plan. I was totally impressed with his preformance to see him go from bull to butterfly was quite pleasing.
those guys must ave only seen cotto's recent fights, against abdulaev and n'dou cotto was boxing too.
He's an excellent boxer no doubt, some have their doubts while others genuinely dislike him without real rationale. I can admit I dislike DLH and hope he loses just about everytime he fights but I think the man is an excellent fighter with real skill.
there is no doubt Mosley was loading up too much on his punches in that fight. My guess is that after seeing Cotto get rocked a few times he figured that he should try to do the same. It backfired on him but IMO that version of Cotto should always be favored to beat that version of Mosley regardless of the strategy. Not that Mosley was shot just that Cotto was better than him at that point
SSM it's a professional over all and a gentelman. This quote is an example of how a real boxer acts at all times. :good
I still thought Mosley won, but they certainly fought to a standstill I thought. Cotto showed his class in that fight and how improved he's really gotten over the last few years. He's a complete fighter at this point.
Mosley is the embodiment of what this sport needs more of. Regardless what he thinks though, a lot of people thought that fight was a draw. Mosley v Judah is going to be a barnburner, assuming Judah shows up in shape and ready to fight.
i can't wait for mosley or judah to win so all mayweather fans can shout rematch ... just to get out of the cotto fight
