It's amazing how boxers themselves seem to place so much stock on weight. You would think they would learn their lesson a bit from previous fights. Mosley may well be right but boxers just seem to churn out the weight argument regardless and just bring that up without getting into the stylistic/tactical nuances to any great detail.
I have a friend who ran into him quite often and he said the same thing about Mosley...he seems to be a decent down to earth guy!!! Wonder what he would have said had Margarita gotten away with using the plaster paris inserts ? " Cotto hits harder, but Margarita's punches hurt more "
How come Cotto was not able to KO Margarito where he landed so many puches in the early rounds, whereas Shane KO'd Margarito..
Cotto was landng shots on the backfoot and never sat down on his punches. Shane went to the body early and planted his feet and landed bombs on Margarito.
Shane also wasn't getting hit with plaster. Cotto would of damaged him towards the end of the fight and might have stopped him if you take away the plaster because he wouldn't of wore out.
True Cotto might have been getting hit with loaded gloves as well but his gameplan was a bit off as well. I have no doubt that with a few tweaks he can stop Margo in a rematch.
