Yeah God forbid someone actually fight the great fighters of his era even when he was at a major disadvantage. Sounds like the opposite of some current fighters.......
I feel the same way. And Mosley's loss to Forrest in the first fight was way more devastating than anything Hoya ever went through as far as getting assassinated in their prime.
You're garbage man, log the **** out. No one wants to read your hate when everyone is writing posts that actually matter to the thread.
I give them both credit, dont slam either. Fair play to them for always fighting the best. Wish more boxers had their attitude.
its the truth. okay let me speak on the thread then. Nobody has been making excuses for Mosley loses, I never hear that **** so I dont know what this thread is about. All I know is DLH anit **** and will be 10 times the better promoter then a boxer
But he was a great boxer, him and Mosley both are/ were. IMO De La Hoya's defeats seem to get held against him while Mosley's are used to show how courageous he is for even fighting them.
I hate people who criticise fighters and then spell there names wrong its Sturm not Strum that is a common mistake on these boards sorry for the rant... but damn anyhow dlh is a legend. I dont care how good you are someones always gonna have your # or catch you on the downward spiral. Dlh was semi retired you cannot compete at a elite level like that. Maybe pac an pbf wouldve beat him in his prime who knows, but much more competitive fights in my opinion in his prime.
There is a double standard when it comes to their losses. Oscar loses and receives a fight against the #1 p4p fighter 2 fights later. Mosley loses and they right him off.
Chavez was shot and over the hill, Many people think Quartey got robbed, and many many more people think Sweet pea got robbed. Oh and let's not forget the gift decision he got over Sturm. Now as you say to be fair I believe he was robbed vs. Tito, and he beat the hell out of Vargas who was caught using steroids to boot (cheated and still got KTFO). Nobody told him to starve his self to death for the Pac-man fight he did that on his own. He tried to stack the odds in his favor in the Mayweather fight, by insisting the fight take place at 154, choosing the gloves and the ring size. The only thing PBF got to choose was his ring walk music. I will give Oscar credit for fighting the best available opponents in their prime not a lot of fighters are doing that these days!!!
Only a nut hugger or an idiot would have Oscar beating Mosley in the first fight. Mosley should have won 8-4. He outlanded Oscar and beat the **** out of him in rnd 12. Oscar deserved the win in the 2nd fight. Those judges were blind. But Mosley whooped that ass in the first one. Not to mention Oscar did nothing against Floyd. Floyd easily outlanded him. All Oscar did was miss. At most he won 3 rounds against Floyd. I swear you Oscar fans seem to love Oscar instead of boxing.
Chavez was not a shot fighter when he fought Oscar in the first fight. Chavez was coming off 6 wins that all end by tkos and was the number 1 rank 140 fighter that was the wbc welterweight champion. <<<So how is he a shot fighter? Many people that i talk too that are true boxing fans thought De la hoya vs Quartey was a close great fight that could go either way. Some thought Quartey won, some thought Oscar won. I thought Oscar won the fight. I had the fight even until the 12th round in which Oscar close the show. I thought Oscar beat Whitaker in another close fight. Whitaker in the late rounds was mostly showboating instead of being focused in which imo cost him.
All Oscar did against Whitaker was hit the air, get knocked down, and outlanded. It was a bad decision.
I still disagree. Yea Whitaker was ducking punches but didn't throw alot. He was mostly showboating instead of focusing. Oscar was the busier fighter point blank.
