Thats bull man and you know it...Its more of Mosley got his best weapon taken away from him and he was going to get countered if he was throwing those looping punches...Him gassing is nothing more than an excuse!

I'm just amazed that Shane's overall strategy was so ineffective. Ricky Hatton had more success in making Mayweather uncomfortable than Shane. And no Plan B to speak of. Crazy.

lol no it's a fact man. He looked like an old man in there. You can deny it all you want, but everyone knows what they saw. He was gasping for breath by the mid rounds, and had lost all steam on his punches. He looked uncoordinated, and sloppy from the beginning, and showed a hell of a lot of ring rust. That was the worst Mosley I've ever seen to date - he looked almost as bad as De La Hoya against Pacquiao.

Shane had Floyd's legs rubbery in the second round and he looked too tired and confused to even put him away. When he had Floyd on the ropes he couldn't even let the punches go. You think a younger Mosley would have behaved like that?

I don't know why you say FLoyd was not giving him a target when he was standing straight in front of him with a high guard. I've never seen Floyd make himself more open to an orthodox fighter in his career. Shane had a reach and height advantage too. Where were the body punches? Left hooks? Combinations? He didn't throw anything. He look too tired to keep his arms up and he couldn't pull the trigger anyway. All the marks of a shot fighter.

I agree, it's a load of ****. Mayweather would back up to the ropes as if he was going to do his "lay on the ropes and try to counter off of them routine" and as Shane would step in to get set and start punching Mayweather would catch him with a quick left hook and then spin off of the ropes and back into the center of the ring.

Mosley never threw because Mayweather wouldn't let him set. The same thing happened, over and over, and Mosley never adapted. By the end he was so gunshy from stepping into that left hook, and later the right straight, that he would stand in front of Mayweather, waiting for the punch to come, so that he could block it and maybe then do something. And then Mayweather stopped throwing it and would hit him with the jab instead.

He just out-thought Mosley for the vast majority of the fight. The minute Floyd put that left hand up, after he got caught with the right, and went into the high guard, Mosley had no answers left. He didn't see any openings and he was getting constantly beaten to the punch.

alright assholes since you guys can't comprehend logic here are some stats.

    Compubox Stats
Shane and Floyd threw about the same number of punches but the huge difference was that Floyd connected on more. Floyd landed 208/477 punches for a 44% connection, while Shane landed 92/452 punches for a 20% connection.

This disparity was clear as the fight went into the middle rounds. Shane couldn’t find an opening to land his punches while Floyd seemed to start landing everything he threw.

Floyd out-jabbed Shane all night. In fact, there were times when Shane’s head was snapped back by Floyd’s jabs. In the later rounds, Shane was trying to get in and lock up but Floyd jabbed his way into complete control. Mayweather landed 40% of his jabs compared to Shane’s 16%.

In the power department, where Shane was supposed to have the advantage, Floyd connected 123/267 power punches for a staggering 46%. Shane could only land 46/169 for a 27% connection.

They both threw almost the same amount of punches so if shane is labeled tired for not throwing then floyd should too. MAYBE THEY ARE BOTH TIRED.

That was a very different Floyd than the one that fought Hatton or JMM.

:patsch Please stop trying to pass your opinion as facts...If he was as tired as you're making him out to be dont you think he would have passed out due to stamina issues....You claim he was gassed after the 2nd...Your body wont allow you to survive another 10 rounds while getting hit flush if you're so fatigued...That logic doesnt add up...Not at all...Its more of you reaching and neglecting to give the better fighters props.

I didn't say 2nd round, I said mid rounds. Why don't you actually go back and watch the fight like I did. Shane had his mouth open early in the fight, and was gasping for breath by the mid rounds. He was absolutely gassed. I'm not reaching , I'm just pointing out the obvious.

And he looked freaking horrible in the fight anyway, regardless of the stamina issue. Have you ever seen a younger Shane Mosley in the ring? If you have you'd know how terrible he looked against Floyd. And it didn't have everything to do with what Floyd did. Shane had no coordination in his punches, he had no snap in his punches, he looked like a rusty old fighter, plain and simple.

Compubox numbers don't tell the whole story. Most of Shanes punches were pitty-pat and had nothing on them. It's not all about a stamina issue anyway. How do you account for Shanes ring rust, and looking terrible to begin with? Even if he didn't gas, that doesn't change the fact that he was looking sloppy with no snap on his punches. Compbubox numbers don't change the fact that he's a 38 year old fighter either, who's looking like a shell of himself in the ring.

Joe Louis said it best at age 36, when I was young the opening appeared and I hit them. When I got old, the opening appeared. I said hit him, and my hands didn't move.

Not being able to pull the trigger, like DLH vs Pac.

Shane always throws a ton of pitty pat punches mixed in with hard punches. Hell, watch the Margarito fight. He'll flick that pitty pat jab a couple of times, wing some arm punches, and then throw that huge overhand right.

The difference is Floyd didn't let him get off with the big punches after his pitty pat flurries. He'd step in and smother, step away and create distance, or punch back.

Floyd fights once a year, where is his sob stories? mosley was outboxed, scare to throw fearing counters, and confused. To say that he gassed by the end of round 2 is one of the most ridiclous things i have ever seen. i can go 3 rounds without getting tired but an elite fighter can't. hell even bhop can go 3 rounds.

skill netrualized volume. if you don't believe go watch martinez vs pavlik

A lot of that has to do with the guy you're in there against. It's easier to pull the trigger when the other guy isn't faster than you. And when he leaves plenty of openings. That is true of both this fight and the Pac v DLH fight.
