This is an extremely dangerous fight for mosley, margarito was frightening against cotto, and cotto is a fighter I love to watch he is ice cold and his punch accuracy and his combinations are beuatiful, but against a determined margarito it didnt make any difference margarito would have walked through walls that night to get at cotto. He knew cotto was being hailed as right up there in the top 5 p4p and being touted around as the biggest fight out there for any fighter. Margarito`s performance sent chills right through me, I didnt expect him to just walk straight through cotto and blugeon him. His chin is also extremley good something that Mosley will undoubtedly test but after mosley realises he cant put a dent in margo, Im afraid it could be a night of real hurt for him. Mosley is nowhere near the fighter he was and the signs of his slowing down have been apparent for a while now, speed is something that he will need in abundance for this fight and his numner one tactic against margo. But when all is said and done speed alone wont win him the fight he has to hurt margo and I just cant see it happening he may well be busy for the first couple of rounds but I just see margo stalking him down all around the ring and getting him against the ropes and unloading, does mosley have the stamina to keep away?? im not sure
mosleys deteriorated bad over his last few fights but i ahve a niggly feeling about this fight because mosley still has the skills but i think marg will win
I agree the stamina thing is the biggest problem I have watched mosleys last few fights and he just hasnt got the stamina he had, of course thats bound to happen with age but its something he dearly needs in this fight.
I'm in the consensus. It'll probably be like Cotto V Margarito 1 again - with Margo taking time to warm up and Mosely displaying immense skills and then deteriorating because the bas*%rd keeps coming back. It will look good on Margarito' record I suppose - beating someone like Mosely. But Mosely does have a chance - Margo may be complacent after the career high win over Cotto.
This fight is at 147, the last time Sugar fought at that weight was against Cotto. I think the only reason Sugar didnt finish Cotto was because he was pretty gassed out himself. I just think Margo makes you fight at his own pace and if you cant keep up its lights out.
Mosley aleady knows he can't hurt Margo, im sure he'l be prepared to go the distance. He knocked out Mayorga in the 12th, so i don't see any problems with his stamina. Mosley UD.
I don't like Mosley, never have, but I don't completely discount the possibilty he might win. Mosley has been a top fighter for a long time now and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and atleast give him a decent shot at pulling off the upset. If he can resurrect some of that Mosley speed and lateral foot movement than he could pull of a possible decision victory. Although if he really is slowing down as bad as say, De La Hoya. Then he's in for the beating of a lifetime just the way Cotto was. We'll just have to see which version of Mosley shows up... the speedy one that dropped and outworked Collazo a little while back, or the one who showed signs of slowing against Mayorga. Which ever version shows up will determine the outcome of the Margarito fight.
i think in his prime he would have outboxed marg but unless he recaptures former glory hes going to get beat
I'm rooting for mosley and I think he definitely has a chance. He's got B-hops trainer now so he might look like a young mosley in this one. A young mosley could win by knockout or U.D. Margarito is a bad dude but he might not have the right style for mosley. I'm probably not picking with my brain on this one but I'm saying Mosley by Unanimous D
