I don't think so. I doubt Shane Mosley can work for the full 12 rounds after his display against a shot version of Mayorga. He did his best work late in that fight, but Margarito will be setting a much more furious pace that Ricardo. I will give Mosley the benefit of the doubt and say he had a chance to last the 12 rounds on his feet, but I wouldn't make him the favourite considering how each of them have performed in recent times.
I think SSM is going to simply try to box his way to a UD, much like Hopkins did, he won't try to hit Margo hard or stop him, as SSM usaully tries to do he just try to outbox him which is possible, as Margo just isn't that good.
To outbox Margarito for the full 12 rounds you need to give him a reason to back off. Mosley can't hurt Margarito, and he will struggle with the pace. His timing and accuracy isn't what it once was either on the evidence of the Margarito fight. This is a bad matchup for Mosley, who will probably find himself on the ropes for 12 rounds.
people need to understand that mosely is NOT a great boxer at all. he isnt capable of outboxing margarito for 12 rounds. he is a brawler more than a boxer. earlier in his career, he used his dazzling speed to beat people offensively. while his speed is still greater than margarito, i dont know if he has the stamina to keep up with margarito's pressure. i dont think he will be able to hurt margarito either. but anything is possible. i definitely see this fight going to the cards b/c both men have granite chins. i simply see margarito outworking mosley.
If Shane can repeat even his form in the second Vargas fight, I see him winning a UD over margarito. Margarito is getting hyped to hell from his cotto win. He's a solid fighter but he's not a world beater. Williams outboxed him and Cotto was winning until his poor punch resistance let him down. Santos beat him too and Clottey was cruising to a win before he hurt himself. Margo is what he is, a good solid fighter that can give anyone a good fight. But hes slow and throws big looping punches. Mayweather would have beat him easily and I think Oscar still has enough in the tank to do the same.
