http://www.nypost.com/seven/11112007/sports/cotto_cuts_it_close_302327.htm Mosley also said: "I think I dictated the action." So for everyone who is coming with the BS of "Shane admitted he lost the fight," keep dreaming. Kind of like how Cotto said he wasn't hurt, huh?: " This content is protected " Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/boxing/7087574.stm Cotto put up a heck of an effort, but let's get our facts straight: - Cotto This content is protected , and he admitted he got hurt by Shane - Shane This content is protected say he thought he lost. Bullsh*t. -------------------------------------- It was a great fight, which made both fighters look good. The NY Post, the NY Daily News and the AP all had the fight a draw. I don't agree, but I can see where they are coming from, if you give Cotto the 5th and the 11th. Great fight, but the judges blew it. Cotto -- as he said -- was hurt, and Shane -- as he said -- pressed the action and made the fight happen in the late, championship rounds. Mosley dug down deep and made the pressure fighter run, controlling the bout down the stretch. It's too bad that the ringside scorers weren't up to the task, as both Casamayor and Cotto got favorable, and incorrect, wins. Whatever your opinion of the fight, keep the facts straight, please: Cotto was hurt, and Mosley knows, and said, he won the fight. Don't mistake his classiness in the face of poor judging as being the same as thinking he lost. He just is too classy to whine. Props to him, on his attitude and his triumphant performance last night, in Cotto's "backyard" of NYC and the partisan Puerto Rican crowd. HUGE respect to the Sugar Man. :goodgood
You got it, my friend. Very disappointed by Cotto's nuthuggers, trying to come up with crap like "Mosley admitted he lost." Your guy fought well, no need to make BS up like that. It only makes Cotto look worse. He is a great fighter, and deserves BIG props for his performance. It just wasn't enough, in a fair world. Mosley is still 'the man' at WW. Wherever he chooses to go from here, he can do at peace with himself after last night.
Yep, on the same night Casamayor "won." Not the sport's finest night, sadly. The judges mailed it in.
 yeah, because that's a fair comparison. a complete and utter robbery, and a tight fight that could have possibly gone either way.
Both were the wrong decision -- that is why they're being compared. A bad night of judging. Mosley knows he won, but he understands that the young guy -- who has a lot of fights ahead of him -- needs his "0" to be promoted to the fullest extent. That's the business side of the sport. Props for Mosley's class. That guy is amazing.
WTF am i reading....no way in hell did mosley get robbed....mosley knows he lost and you can see it in his eyes..... you guys are ****en weird......santa cruz got robbed, mosley didnt
Excellent posts. Im really disappointed with the Cotto fans on this forum, not Cotto himself who was excellent last night. Posts comming out like Cotto outboxed him and Cotto won 9-3 and stuff, obvious nuthuggery. But I had Shane winning. I feel really sorry for Shane out of most fighters he deserves least to get shafted.
I agree -- I am sick of paying for this sh*t. Next time, I'll just wait for the replay. I'm not getting ripped-off again. I was sick with Hopkins-Taylor I, and Toney-Peter I. Same old crap -- the veteran gets jobbed on the scorecards. Boxing -- YOU SUCK! Stop doing this sh*t and killing your credibility. yesiahve -- Thanks. I had to go find the Mosley quotes and shut-up the 'he knows he lost' bullsh*t. Please, 'huggers, wake up to reality.
paulfv, in your research, did you find any ring-side sources give the fight to Mosley? Any to Cotto? B/c you only mentioned three that had it as a draw and was wondering what cnnsi, espn, yahoo, and any others had it as. Thanks.
It was a great fight, man. Definitely worth watching. It's just a shame that someone -- the wrong guy, in my mind -- had to lose. I'm sorry I have been slow to respond to you in some other threads. My bad, bro. I'm just busy as f*ck lately. I'm going to be gone for a month here from a bet, but I'll catch up to you somewhere else. Hope all is well, my man! :goodgood
