Do your own research. I do know this -- Dan Rafael gave Cotto the 9th round. That is an embarrassment to him and to the sport.
So besides having perceived that Cotto beat Mosley mentally, out of his witts, you are also a mind reader? :good
well he needs to go home and watch the fight .and see those big shots he was tacking. watch Howe cotto was beating him to the Punch .he need to see his look on his face wen cotto was tagging him . he looked discouraged wen cotto was stinging him with that jab.
I GAVE COTTO THAT ROUND TOO....mosley landed some clean shots, but cotto landed alot more cleaner/harder ones...i just re-watched it right now..and even when cotto was backing up, he was peppering shane with the jab.....
So are you saying that your small sampling of research was not complete? Oh, ok, that just makes your point much weaker. :good No ringside expert saw Mosley win.
A great fight but I think that Cotto edged it.....He showed alot more than I was expecting with his faster hands & jab , Mosely was excellent but it all came in patches & wasnt sustained enough to take it. Cotto is getting better for me with each challenge & as for those saying Mosely was robbed I'd have to disagree , A draw ???Maybe but again I half to say I think Cotto just edged it
Mosley and Cotto landed the same number of shots. Mosley outlanded Cotto in power shots. Mosley threw 100 more punches. Mosley was the aggressor for the last four rounds, and was on the retreat for just 2 rounds. (Rounds 5 and 6) Mosley closed the show, taking the fight to the retreating, 'relentless, will-breaking' Cotto, who went De La Hoya for the final 4 rounds. The only joke about this fight was the judging. It was not a good night for judging, to say the least.
Agreed Paul. Shows that boxing companies and writers have a vested interest in the younger fighter - More money and the future. Round 9 which was the clearest Mosely round of the fight. Round 9 Nice short lefts inside from Cotto. Cotto lands a left inside, but Mosley responds with a right to the body. Mosley lands a right to the jaw, and another. A good left from Mosley. Mosley backs Cotto to the ropes, lands a right and then a hook that staggers Cotto. Major momentum shift!! Dan Rafael scores it: Cotto, 10-9 Kieran Mulvaney scores it: Mosley, 10-9 Darius Ortiz scores it: Mosley, 10-9
Cotto began to retreat in that round, and looked like he was taking the round off. Mosley hurt him in the round. In fact, the quote about Cotto saying he was hurt was when he talked about the 9th round. That was where I got it in my original source, which I posted in another thread. If you think Cotto won the 9th round, there is no way short of a KO you would give Mosley the victory.
As long as Bob Arum have led Stevie to the ringside seat and God knows what more, have a pit-bull to keep a close "eye" on Stevie maybe? Make Stevie sing "La Linda Tierra del Sol y el Mar" even?... I agree that even Stevie would "wonder" at all the frenzy atmosphere at the MSG and possibly would make that one of the 10 to 12th round a 7th to Cotto's score instead of a 6th to Mosley's.
HBO had it 5-5 at Round 10, then they gave Cotto rounds 11 and 12, which were definite Mosley rounds - All cotto done was run like a *****.
Thank you, my friend. Complete embarrassment by Rafael, who used to be an excellent boxing writer but now seems like he has sold his soul. And not just in this fight, but in others as well. That's a whole different thread.
