The total landed punches were even but Mosley landed more power punches. Cotto's jab was his best head shot. Cotto's 2 best weapons are his jab and body shot. Cotto is the one in danger of being like Holyfield. He's the one that gets hurt in every other fight, not Shane. I haven't seen Shane really hurt since 02.

    Re-watch it.

When a fighter runs the last few rounds, or even loses the last round or so, it blurs your memory of the rest of the match. There are so many cases just like this. I challenge you to watch the first 8 rds and come back and say there was anything close about that. There wasn't.

Where did you get those punch stats?

Anyway, didn't compubox have Calzaghe landing a thousand punches on Hopkins when noone can point out more than about 3?

Look at Shane after the fight, blood coming out of his ears and slurring his speech. Thats not a good sign..

Actually i watched it last night. Mosley landed just as many big shots as Cotto, if not more. Your kidding yourself mate, i think you need to go back and rewatch it.

That's a good point, and Top Rank might even be able to demonstrate directly how much better the business would be at MSG. Very true. Unfortunately, it sounds like it's West or nothing for Mosley, so I figure if Cotto really wants this as much as he's indicated he'll help make this happen regardless.

I know Mosley has his eye on Hatton/Pacquiao, so he'll likely let this fight die if Top Rank and/or Cotto refuse to come over the way it looks.

If I was I would want Cotto to rematch and whup Shane, who's stock is so high after beating Margarito.

I remember seeing Cotto bleeding at the end of the fight, not to mention Cotto was in fact saved by the ref at 2:30 of rnd 10. As far as the punch stats, its a fact that Cotto used his jab a lot while Mosley was at times head hunting.

A nosebleed is not the same as a guy close to 40, who's had a long, hard career, bleeding out of his ears. That's serious.

Cotto had a cut over his eye. I'm not sure whether it was caused by a butt or not.

Agree with both - also, this is the fight Cotto says he wanted - even before Margarito was officially suspended. It would do more for Cotto's career and future prospects in my view to go and beat Mosley at the Staples Center or out in LV, if he can manage that, than it would for him to put on another showcase in front of his faithful at MSG (immediate monetary benefits aside). People still really don't know Cotto on the left coast. Cotto was supposed to be in the process of growing his fan base when he came out to fight Margarito in Vegas. Supposedly anyway..

If a rematch happens, Cotto can't rely on a ref to stop the action once Mosley hurts him.
