Mosley: "I wouldn't face Sergio Martinez because he’s too big."

This comment was from On The Ropes episode #119. But lets take look back, and see how Shane felt about this fight before the Martinez-Williams rematch took place.........

    Episode #92 September.....

On whether he would be interested in facing middleweight champion Sergio Martinez at 154, given the fact Martinez said he would be willing to meet Mosley at that weight.

“That would be great, I mean especially if the other fights can’t come through. It would be a good fight with him, as well.”

    Episode # 81 July.......

Jenna: Alright now I brought this up before and I said if you’re successful against Mora, who would you go to next and you mentioned Sergio Martinez. Now he’s actually currently the middleweight champion. Let’s say a fight can be made with him. Would you consider fighting him at that weight class to make the fight happen?

    Mosley:
Yeah, I mean he’s the middleweight champion. We’ll probably fight at a catch weight, 155 or 156 or something like that. We’ll work it out. I’m sure he’s available and willing to fight. Actually, he was willing to fight me at 60-40. That was surprising to me that I could get a 60-40 fight with Sergio Martinez but I couldn’t get one with Andre Berto. That was shocking to me.

Shane won't fight him at 160... Pac won't fight him at 154... Why are we supposed to be outraged again?

I think the problem is not about weight. Both Pac and Roach said they wanted to fight JMM for the 3rd time to shut his mouth. Pac even said that his current natural weight was 140 and he could still make 135. I think it's their promoters who are preventing the 3rd fight to happen.

You're right. It was in the 3rd fight with Morales that Pac breached 140, where for the first time, he outweighed Morales 144-142. Pac's heft was very obvious that night, he was too strong but a bit slower.

What kind of bull**** revisionist **** is that?

Pacquiao offered Marquez an immediate rematch. Marquez turned down 750K to fight Chris John in Indonesia for 30K instead. A fight which he lost. Pacquiao went up in weight and on to fight the last remaining Mexican legend he hadn't fought, Erik Morales, in what turned out to be a trilogy, who was far more accomplished than JMM.

The fact Marquez had to wait two years was his fault, and his fault only.

As for a third fight, Pac with a 1-0-1 record didn't need it and Marquez didn't help his cause with all his bitching. Pac went up a further 3-4 divisions after that fight to take fights people at the time said he couldn't win. Anyone who holds that against Pac is a ****ing idiot.

Marquez now has his chance for the third fight he's been crying for with his free agency, and what does he do?.. he uses it as leverage to ensure a better deal wth Golden Boy and says people aren't interested in him fighting Pac again anyway. And Pac is the one accused of ducking him, even though he fought him twice when Hamed, Morales and Barrera didn't want anything to do with him? GTFO..

Just like Pac, Martinez wanted Floyd but Floyd was not interested. I do not know if he really wanted Shane as alternative but Pac beat him into it.

Pac himself said he walked around 145 lbs, had to eat a lot and train big for welterweight fights.

Now Sergio is the most feared man in boxing. Great boxers duck him, good. But but but... "Im too small for 160" sergio.
