The cotto fight is not really a big fight unless they put him against margarito next. That was the reason hbo didn't want the fight. Give him a big name opponent next and i'm sure hbo will be all over it.

Berto is the next best matchup after Mayweather. You have a hungry, young, talented and skilled, undefeated, #3 rank welterweight, and a wbc champ for the past two years.

He has defeated the best of the B-classers put in front of him i.e. Collazo, Quintana, Forbes, Urango, and Hernandez and was meant to face Mosley for his title in 2010 until the unfortunate earthquakes intervened. Berto for legacy, Mosley for money. It's as simple as that.

Not interested in Marquez coming up to welter - or them fighting at JWW; nor Martinez coming down at catchweight JMW.

Just seems to me it's no longer important that the champions face the top challengers/other champions in a division. I expect casual fans to hype this fight, but not from serious boxing fans.

Yea that was the fight i wanted for pac next. Berto would have been a good match up, better than an old mosley but let's face it. Haters will come out with excuses after pac beats him.

Yea he beat collazo-urango-quintana-forbes but he still hasn't fought anybody that would make him a threat to pacquiao. He's got speed and power but he doesn't have the greatest chin. I doubt he could take pac's punches for 12 rounds.

But if I use Pacquiao's career as an example, why did he get a shot at Marco Antonio Barrera I (who was coming off a string of high profile wins, and one of the top p4p fighters at the time) allow a then-obscure Pacquiao to move up in weight with only one notable fight against Ledwada and a couple of paper titles along the way.

At this point in his career, Mosley has not done anything that would make him a threat to Pacquiao either. If a one-sided loss (which could have been a TKO as Nazim was ready to throw in the towel), and a sloppy draw against a limited-fighter over two years is all it takes to get a shot at the p4p #1 I'd be really worried about the direction of the sport.

I'm trying my best to want to like this fight, but there's no amount of spin you can weave for boxing fans.

Sure he will, hell if I had a fight with Pacquiao, I would hype the **** out of it. There would not be a bigger trash talker alive. Then come fight time I would be holding my check after I got knocked out.

I think it's kind of a useless fight considering Mosley will be a couple months shy of 40 years old. But I will be buying the fight. This will be my first Pacquaio fight I have ever bought.

"Well what is probably going to happen is I'm going to keep up the pace for a couple of rounds, maybe clip Manny once or twice to get everyone out of their seats but eventually I'm going to be swamped and going to tire. I'll be dropping in activity while he will be rising leading to a....late TKO or corner stoppage....if I'm lucky a one sided UD in Manny's favour." - If Shane Mosley was trying to be honest rather than sell the fight.

If you want to hear Shane say that, your man isn't going to get anywhere near the money he should be doing in PPV buys.
