Mosley: "I'm Just As Fast As Mayweather, Just As Slick, And I Can Outbox Him Too"

Thing about Shane is, what happens when he realizes his gameplan isn't working? The guy sounds so certain about his strategy. In the past when his strategies didn't work he got discouraged and lacked the ability to adjust. Floyd will do what works...that's his style. That's his advantage; he can adjust if the pot-shotting doesn't work. Floyd hasn't been pushed in years to do anything but pot shot. This is a fight that will likely bring the best out of him.

:goodFloyd does pot shot alot though. I respect Mosley's confidence but I don't think he'll outbox Floyd but I do see him being rough in clinches and nailing him with bodyshots assuming Floyd doesn't move out the way and throw straights at will.

 

Mosely could try to stay out of Mayweather range since he has the longer reach. He can force Mayweather to come to him. Which probably spells disaster for Mayweather.

He may try to bully Mayweather like Tarver did Jones , if Mayeather touches the ropes.

He needs straighter punches too. Not many hooks from the outside. Mayweather can doge those easy . He cant do much against straights though except take it and smile, like agaisnt Oscar.

I dunno, Floyd looks a couple of shades slicker to me.

 

He is right about mayweather not being able to potshot against him but he will be able land his jab all night. Mayweather is gonna have to turn and wrap mosley when him comes in close. Either we see the best mayweather thus far or he loses. I gotta him winning

 

shane has the tools to beat mayweather, if he apply them correctly. It will be difficult for Shane to outbox Mayweather from the outside, but I like his confidence. He shouldn't just rush mayweather either. He needs to do something in between. manuever floyd to the ropes and do good work there. i think floyd's speed is too much in the middle of the ring.

we'll see. i hope shane wins. he has chosen opponents the way we wish floyd did.

 

Last person to try to outbox Floyd was Gatti and we saw what happened in that fight. Shane isn't winning and it isn't going to be close.

 

shane can win this but i honestly dont think anyone can outbox floyd.. mosley must make pbf mix it up with him.. back mayweather into corners like dlh did but not allow floyd to keep the fight in the center of the ring for too long of periods which dlh also did which is wat cost him the fight

 

I agree. Mosley best bet it to try and maul Floyd with his size, power, speed, and relentnesness. Fuk trying to outbox him. That would be plain dumb! :-(

 

Time will tell, Mayweather is a far better technical boxer than Shane, he is better defensively, a tad quicker (which shouldnt be enough to make a huge difference), has better movement & superior punch accuracy... those things will be hard for SSM to overcome but either way, we should see FMJ tested to the max, this is all fans want, just to see if his heart & gut = his talent, if he really is one of the greats, he will rise to the occassion, either way, the winner of this fight will have claimed a major scalp, arguably the best of their great careers.

Controlled the fight by doing what exactly? Don't talk out of your ass. When has Shane become a counter puncher? Shane will not try and box Floyd, he is gonna go in there, use some rough house tactics, and go for the stoppage.

 

I think that's exactly what Mayweather wants. Mosley should not do strategical boxing with him but rush him intelligently and break him down. If not he's finished.

 

Shanes got a brilliant new trainer, and i doubt brother nasim would send him out there with this game plan. Kinda like PBF saying he's handing out ass whoopins, thats not what he does, he just out boxes and outpoints the opponent to a decision in may cases.
