I'm pretty sure Oscar got mad respect from Mayorga the first time he dumped him on his butt at the beginning the first round. Mayorga regrouped, knew at this point Oscar was no joke, and held it together until the inevitable end. If we want to take it further in the respect department, Mayorga gave Tito 2 free left hooks (or what is right) in their fight, showing no respect to tito. I'm not sure so that respect argument really holds up. I like Mosley, always been a fan, but he looks noticeably slower and reflex's aren't there like they used to be. Even against Margarito, I wasn't that impressed; it wasn't like Marg was hard to hit or beat to the punch. I think Mosley is on the same path as Oscar and it will just take one fight with an elite to truly put the stamp on him. Mosely should have torn Maryorga up, respect or no respect. He's not hard to hit and obviously isn't one with elite boxing skills. A younger Shane would have had him out within 4-5 rounds -- I'd bet on it.
Margarito has only done this in the Mosley fight, He did not cheat against Cotto lets clear that up.... Now why he did it in the mosley fight I have no idea, he wanted to be the first to knock Mosley out, but on top of that, he did come into camp heavy needing to take off abotu 35 pounds in six weeks for the fight, I think its safe to say that Margarito knew the crash diet would hurt him in the fight so he moved to plan B....
Wait, I thought it was accurately assumed Marg has wrapped his hands before? And probably did in the Cotto fight? Did I miss something?
Nevada cleared him, why?:think Because the commissioners do not leave the room they watch everything and get this.... Nevada supplies teh gauze and tape.
I want to make it clear, I am not a mosley hater, nor a floyd fan. Yes there is the argument that marg beat cotto, mosley beat marg therefore mosley is the best. In a rematch with cotto, would mosley win? his record for overturning defeats is dismal; 0-2...saying that i was wholly unimpressed with cotto vs clottey, i guess the pac fight will give more clues. I would however favour mosley to apply the pressure and damage cotto the way margo did. Against pacman, mosley I'm thinking would destroy him. Against clottey, clottey finds ways of losing his big fights. Against mayweather, I cant see him handling mayweathers speed and timing. Against berto, i think he'd get a stoppage. So against the top welterweights, i have mosley 4-1. He is a top welterweight, no doubt. He has earned his ranking, no doubt. But is he the best WW atm, I do doubt.
You seem quite confident, how could it be that the majority of people are so sure he cheated from williams onwards, yet you seem to have concrete proof that he only cheated against mosley?
easier? you can not call cotto or pacman easy fights. if you do, you know **** all about boxing. beating pacman puts him p4p #1 i'm sure that is what he wants to achieve before anything.
his resume is very impressive no doubt. but the question is to him being the best ww atm, that is what i have doubts with. I do think pac will beat cotto cos i think his tenacity will prove too much for a man who i have doubts as to his punch resistance: torres, malignaggi, margo, clottey all had him in trouble at some point.
Cotto was shaky at the tail end of his time at 140 because he was killing himself to make the weight. He has been much steadier at 147. He took the same bombs from Mosely that Margarito did and stayed upright for the full 12. He never even looked particularly hurt. Margarito simply wore him out and broke him down. He wasn't wobbled by anything in particular, he simply went down from an accumulation of punches and a sense that he couldn't do anything to keep them from coming. And Clottey probably hurt him, since Cotto couldn't see out of one eye for much of the fight and was consequently getting hit with shots that he didn't see coming, which are by far the most damaging. Saying that, he still didn't go down, and Clottey is a strong, strong welterweight. I absolutely promise you that Clottey hits harder than Pac. Cotto gets far too little credit on this board. His punch resistance is fine. Not the best in the business, but plenty good enough to stand up to the hardest hitters at welterweight.
Youre just another dumb fraud groupie, yes Pac and Cotto would be easier fights for fraud then Mosley will thats why you and the rest of the fraud cocksucking brigade dont want him to fight Mosley.
Let me correct you. Shane is 2-2 in rematches, not 0-2. He beat Oscar in the second, and yes i agree it was highly controversial, but the officials had him winning nonethless, and he beat vargas. In all 3 rematches, excluding SSM vs ODLH 2, shane was much more improved. Also buy using your own logic above, out all of the top fighters are you suggesting that PBF is the only one you think will convincingly beat him? Well this is why shane wants to fight floyd to prove he is the best!!!
Nope. Mosely is too one dimensional at this stage in his career. Much better fight if it had happened at the beginning of the decade. Cotto outboxed Mosely and Floyd is a hell of a lot better at fighting off of the backfoot than Mosely. Mosely would spend 12 rounds chasing Floyd and probably never catch him. That said we will probably see this fight next year, but not before Floyd fights the winner of Pac/Cotto.
He said he was 0-2 in avenging defeats. Meaning he lost to Winky and Forrest and then went right back and lost to them again. He's not adaptable enough to try a different gameplan when his first one failed.
well, if you want to gauge his fights with Vernon Forrest and Winky Wight as a gauge for how he will do against a rematch with cotto then go for it. Those guys are completely different fighters and i dont think it will be an accurate measurement. Shane did make lots of adjustments in his to rematches with those two guys, but i think both fighters with the height advantages and big frames were just too much for shane. SSM would loose to them ten times in a row if he tried. A rematch with cotto would be a different story as i think that Shane body punching was able to cause cotto to back up towards teh late rounds. i was very disappionted with shane in that fight but i think he would do better in the rematch.
