Ive pointed that out before, last year everytime someone mentioned Mosley to a ***** he would respond with hes old,hes on steroids, the overrated Margo was made for him etc. Floyd-Mosley gets made and all of a sudden *****s act like Mosley is the second coming of Ray Robinson and his win over Margo is one of the biggest wins in boxing history,he literally went from zero to hero just by signing a contract to fight Mayweather.
Im a fan of both fighters. But I dont quite remember that statement coming from the majority of mayweather fans. Nearly everyone I know at the time gave mosley huge props for beating Margarito who was deemed one of the most dangerous man in boxing.
Me too though Shane is my fav fighter. I don't think too many people are fans of both Shane & Floyd. We're a rare breed:good
And now they have selective amnesia. atsch Even Floyd himself had to "remind" Shane that he's not old in that HBO Face-Off that I hosted.
Jack, I think before you start similar threads in the future you should post a disclaimer at the top, something along the lines of "even though i am an admitted Floyd hater, this thread has nothing to do with that, i am not preemptively discrediting his May 1st victory." Go ahead and bump your useless post on May 2nd. Coming from you, that's pretty much what it is, useless.
Of course it's hypothetical, just like 95% of this forum. If you disagree, why? Give me an argument, without bringing up the Margarito fight, as to why Mosley is the biggest threat. I'm not ignoring it without good reason, either.
Exactly. Most Mayweather fans said Mosley was old and the fight was pointless, a sentiment I agree with because the Margarito shouldn't cloud anyones judgement, but their stance has changed, quite obviously.
I only comment on what I see. I have never criticized Mayweather for doing good, looking impressive or anything that a hater would. I've always stood by my stance criticizing potential oppnents, such as Mosley, Pacquiao, Margarito and more. If you think I am a hater, you're just wrong. I call it as I see it and if Mosley looks great when they fight but loses, I'll happily admit I was wrong.
So if Mayweather decided not to fight Mosley and claimed that he was to old. Would Mayweather be consider'd a coward or would he be doing the right thing by not fighting an older over-matched opponent.
no i do obviously mosley is not as good as he once was but he is still better than most fighters out there, he is better than any fighter mayweather has ever fought.
I'd have Mosley and Pacquiao as the #1 Welterweights right now. Obviously he's not in his prime and is getting on a bit in age, but he is coming off (well over a year ago...) a very impressive performance against Margarito. Many people didn't give Mosley a chance, but he demolished Margarito, whether Margarito's head/heart was in it or not...that win elevated Mosley to the top of the Welterweight ranks. Anyway my point is, if Mayweather beats Mosley, it would be a lot more impressive than wins over Berto, Clottey, or Margarito. Mosley hadn't looked good in his bouts before Margarito, but going off his last victory, he still has the hunger to fight and beat the best...if any other welterweight had fought and beat Mosley next (Berto, Clottey, Pacquiao, etc), that victory would be classed as very impressive!
