How can you explain Hatton losing his plan and composure against Pacquaio, who did not even trash-talked him?

And Oscar not getting his way against Pacquaio? So Pacquaio got into their heads also?

The thing is, all these trash talks are for show, to show controversy and drama, especially when it involves Mayweather, Jr. because it is only when he can do some "tough act". These are all boxers, fighters, they won't be that affected by trash talk unless Ali is the one doing it and the boxer is Frazier.

Mayweather is a genius inside the ring, but don't say as if what he is doing in these presscons are all acts of a genius to get into his oppositions' heads.

They are all for show, dude.

actually frazier acted positively with the trash talk, it made him a better fighter against ali, while some like liston it got to them too much.anyway, regarding pacquiao and hatton, hatton did have some bust up with floyd sr before the fight, so that could of had some sort of effect mentally, but plain and simple pacquiao was too good for hatton and oscar. i'm not trying to make floyd look like some sort of genious, but i think it's quite known that he pisses people off. that effects some people if they're the ones fighting.

 

We all can't know for certain which Mosley shows up but indeed he takes this fight seriously and if he gets the W he deserves it'll be his sharpest performance. All credit to Floyd if he happens to win though.

Shane could get old overnight at this point, but considering he's coming off what is probably one of his best performances of his career, we should consider him still near peak unless he demonstrates some massively visible deterioration in the ring. :good

 

This idea that Margarito was "perfect" for Shane I disagree with. In fact, what is usually the kryptonite for veteran fighters are high-pressure fighters with high workrates, which Margarito epitomizes. He was also the favorite going into the fight.

 

Yeah I wish Hop would have been there... Just to see what he would have said, and what Floyd would have said to Hop. That could have gotten quite interesting.

 

He may not be weight drained, you have to remeber he lost weight for the Berto fight probably hasn't gone back to his normal walking weight completely

When he was fighting Pac, he was picking on smaller guys, etc. I remember that loudmouth "interviewing" Floyd and criticizing him all the way (some of it rightfully so, mind you), and all the time he was saying "fight a real, hard hitting, proven welterweight like Mosley, man!". Now he's doing just that and already the excuses have come. atsch

I will be the first to admit that Floyd could've fought some other guys, but criticizing him for fighting the best out there after Pac pulled out when he realized he was afraid of needles (except when fighting Clottey).... that's really stupid. He's fighting the best welterweight in the world that is available.
